My little Tater Tot looked super adorable for school today, and had a great drop-off this morning too!
And although this was the only photo we got in the parent portal app today, it looks like she had a good day!
I had a good day at work too, but definitely busy, as usual. Emerson came out of school so excited yelling, “I missed you, Mommy!” And she gave me the best hug. She’s the sweetest girl!! I had put in an order on my Chick-fil-A map, and Jeff ran to pick it up, while Emmie and I went straight home. We had just a few minutes to hug each other and play with Pretzel, before Jeff got home with our dinner.
Emerson was chatting like crazy tonight, telling us all sorts of things, that I can’t even remember now. One of the things was about this teeny tiny boo-boo she got at school today, but that she couldn’t remember how, but that Mommy had given her this sloth Band-Aid when we got home.
She got this little color matching game in her kids’ meal, and we played a modified version of it, since it was really meant for slightly older kids, and a little over her comprehension level, at least to start out with. But maybe she’ll learn as we play more!
Jeff and Emmie went outside to play with her little Dollar Tree styrofoam airplane, and then on a trip to Walmart for some new camping gear, for our upcoming camping trip next weekend!
They also looked around at a few other things while they were there, and Emmie pointed out allllll the things she wanted. Jeff did get her the mermaid towel, and some little soft, squishy sloth thing, that ended up being on clearance for only 50 cents!
While they were playing and shopping, I headed out to church to re-join the praise team at rehearsal tonight, for the first time in a few months since all the pre- & post-surgery quarantine, and it was so good to be back. I was listening to praise and worship music on the car to warm-up my voice, and I had a full-on worship session there in my car! The sunset on my drive was also beautiful!
Daddy & Emerson had just finished up her bedtime routine right as I was getting home, and they greeted me when I pulled into the carport. She was so excited to see me and so chatty, telling me so many things about her Walmart shopping trip with Daddy. I got to talk with her for a few minutes and hear about all the things they saw and they fun they had.
As I was holding her and rocking and and singing lullabies, she was like, “I even missed you so much, Mommy!” I said, “Oh baby girl I even missed you so much too!” A few seconds later, she told me, “But I don’t wanna sleep, Mommy, I’m not tired!” and then three seconds later, she let out a huge yawn, and I said, “See, I knew you were tired silly girl.” And she just giggled so sweetly. She said something else funny that I repeated in my head so I could remember, but of course now I’ve forgotten… Oh well. She went to bed sweetly, and fell asleep fast. It’s almost my bedtime now too, so I’ll be heading off to bed soon myself.
