Back in the Gym

Today was the first day of the summer session of gymnastics again for Emerson. And she’s been chomping at the bit to get back there again, after a break since the spring session that she loved so much.

Then in the last few minutes of the class, one of the other coaches came over and asked if she could do an individual evaluation on Emmie. She tested her on about 10-15 different skills around the gym, and she did SO good at all of them.

She even climbed to the very top of the tall rope, much to my amazement!

Turns out, she did so well in her class, they singled her out to invite her to join the next level class, which is a step up and goes into more technical training, and is a lead-in to their actual girls’ team. So that’s super exciting! That class is twice a week, from 3-4pm on Tuesdays & Thursdays for the rest of the summer session, so the most difficult part is going to be getting her to the gym, but I really want her to have this opportunity, so we’re trying to figure it all out… But I’m just so proud of her!!!

Ok so after gymnastics,we got gas, and the headed back home, and picked up Daddy and Addie. I couldn’t get a grocery pickup order time today, so we had to do our own shopping, and we just barely made it out of there by the skin of our teeth… it was honestly pretty rough. (it was Addie’s lunch and nap time, so that was our fault).

We bought sausage dogs from a guy in the parking lot for lunch (makes it sound so sketchy, right?!), but they were really good, and then we got the girls down for their naps. Emmie had actually napped in her sleeping bag on the floor these past two weekends, and she slept for two hours both times.

And then of course after nap time,we were back outside in our backyard blowup pool, in our “baby soups,” as Addie calls her bathing suit.

The girls had their “bath” in the pool (which really means we just washed their hair) then they put on the gigantic and super soft t-shirts Grammy got them from their church’s VBS.

This cute baby ate her whole dinner cuddled up in Daddy’s lap, she just couldn’t get enough loves.

We did all our usual bedtime routine stuff, and got the girls down pretty easily. Jeff is going to bed early, and I’m going to paint my nails, and then head to bed too.
