Back in Action

We’re alive over here! For the past five days, I took a blogging break while Jeff and I were feeling under the weather. It’s the longest break I’ve taken in a year, and it was actually kinda nice, but I was itching to get back to it. I do have some pictures to share from the loooong weekend, but I’m gonna kinda just dump them for each day, and leave it at that… maybe. But probably minimal writing…

FRIDAY

Red, white & blue day at school; and I went to an Indian restaurant buffet with work friends for lunch.

SATURDAY

Chick-fil-A breakfast, sent to us via Doordash from a sweet friend, so it was one less thing for me to worry about when I didn’t feel great.

Grandmommie came over to spend the day with the girls, so we could rest; my parents brought us a few bags of groceries, including homemade French onion dip I had told her previously I was craving.

My sweet bestie Britteny and her daughter Elly brought us these homemade cookies for our bedtime treat.

SUNDAY

Giant pan of both orange rolls and cinnamon rolls for breakfast

Girlfriend couldn’t hang, and fell asleep like this in about 30 seconds flat, without even having lunch.

I chose to sit and read, rather than clean up all the toys, once the girls were both napping.

Sharing a festive holiday popsicle.

I took this photo and then said, “Emerson, you’re just the cutest girl I’ve ever seen!” And she was like, “That’s not true.” I said, “OF COURSE it’s true! Look at this picture!” So then I showed her, and she was like, “Oh yeah you’re right actually!”

Making an even bigger mess…

This was a great puzzle that we got from Goodwill last weekend, for only $1.50. So pretty, and even Emmie could do the puzzle pick-up thing!

MONDAY

Had to start the day back in the Elsa gown with an Elsa braid.

And more reading for me a lot during the day.

Boredom turned into the best smoothies I’ve ever made, because we added our normal favorite smoothie fruits (pineapple, mango, banana), and added apple juice & sprite, since we didn’t have any orange juice like we usually use.

Simple night of sparklers in the driveway for the 4th.

TUESDAY

The girls went back to school, and goodness gracious they both are adorable, but Emerson looks especially beautiful in these photos! I love them both in their little pink dresses and tennis shoes.

Addison slept on a cot at school for the first time today, to start getting her ready to transition to the next class at school in the fall. And she’s just growing up too stinking fast!

I took the day off work today for just one more day of actual rest, since it’s really hard to rest while also taking care of two very busy girls, and it was so nice to just do my own thing for the day at home. I colored, and watched tv, and ate a good sandwich for lunch, and read my Kindle book, and took an afternoon nap.

And then I went to pick up the girls from school, and get started on dinner. Although I’d made a few sandwiches and hot dogs and breakfast stuff, tonight was the first night I really felt up to cooking, and of course I just wanted to make a bowl of comfort noodles, with spaghetti and meat sauce.

Yesterday we had taken apart the Rapunzle puzzle, but we started it over again last night.

Both girls did great at bedtime, and have been out for a while now. I think I heard the water running and Jeff working on some dishes, but I’m gonna go check on that and see what else needs to be done before settling down to chill before bedtime, and maybe even finish my book later.

Oh, and I forgot to mention, and I don’t have a photo of it, but Addison finally had her first tooth break through yesterday! It’s on the bottom, and it’s the tiniest little thing ever, but it’s there!
