Sharing Sandwiches

The girls ended up accidentally / coincidentally wearing matching outfits today, in denim shorts & aqua shirts, just looking so cute together.

Addison had a great day at school – look at all these happy smiley pictures!

I met up for lunch at Hopkins with my Mama & sister today, for the first time in forever, and it was so nice! I ordered the Ultimate Turkey, but Meg couldn’t decide if she wanted that or the Zorba, so we ordered one of both and shared halves. Coincidentally, I liked the turkey better, and she liked the Zorba better 😉 We also got a couple of desserts to share as well, and even though that cake looks very unassuming, it was super yummy. We had so much to talk about and catch up on, and one quick hour definitely wasn’t long enough.

I’ve recently finished two books by this same author, and just really loved both of them, and so I had to share. I don’t typically love “regular” books about “regular” things (I like some fantasy, magic, sci-fi, historical fiction kind of stuff), but both of these “regular” stories were absolutely great. “Something Wilder” is more of an adventure-romance situation, and “The Soulmate Equation” is just pure rom-com, and I rated both five full stars. Definitely recommend either of them!

The plan tonight was supposed to be chicken alfredo for dinner, but I forgot to defrost the frozen chicken, and then I forgot to ask Jeff to set it out to thaw, so we just went for egg sandwiches instead. I also decided on some random baked meatballs to go with it, and yeah it was random, but it was also good.

We played in Addison’s room after dinner, and I took some time to dig through more of Emerson’s old hand-me-down bins we’ve had packed. I did pull out some more stuff that will fit Addie now, and specifically a few red, white & blue outfits for this weekend.

I also unearthed a few more pairs of Emmie’s old jammies, and this pair was always one of my favorites. They’re so sweet-looking, and incredibly soft, and I was so glad to have found them.

Jeff has caught a little cold in the last couple of days, so he went to sleep around 8pm tonight, so it was just me and the girls for their bedtime routine. We took Addison with us to Emerson’s room for a book and a lullaby, but Addie just thought it was playtime with all of Emmie’s stuffy’s.

I brought her back up front afterwards and rocked her for about 20 minutes, but she was sound asleep after about 6 minutes… But she was just so warm and sleepy and cuddly, I had to just keep rocking her until I was ready to lay her down.

Heading to wash up some dishes now, and then watch Survivor on the big tv (instead of just the little computer screen while I blog), since Jeff is already snoozing away the night.
