Addison’s First Steps!

Beautiful sunrise on the way to school, which was so much nicer than yesterday’s terrible storms!

We had an easy, happy, Friday drop-off.

We had a book fair come set up in our office today, and we went down to peruse for a while, and I ended up buying two books for Emmie. One will be in her Easter basket, and the other one I’ll save for her birthday this summer. (This first pic isn’t the whole book fair, just the part without any people in the way…)

Y’all know I made sure to make enough tuna last night to bring some leftovers for another bagel sandwich for lunch today. And once again, it was delicious. I also grabbed this cranberry ginger ale from the freebie table at the office today, which was a nice treat.

After work, I picked up the girls, and we went over to Nana’s house, for a little surprise for Emmie….

Her big cousins Libby and Andersen were here from Georgia for the weekend! She was so excited when she found them hiding, and was ready to play with them.

But not even baby sister wanted to miss out on the rope swing!

But she wasn’t done with just the rope swing, because then she surprised us by taking her first steps!! She had been practicing with Nana, when Libby asked, “She hasn’t taken her first steps yet?” And we were like, “Not yet but she’s super close.” Then Addie literally just stood up, and took two steps out of nowhere on her own! So we came into the kitchen to try it again, and girlfriend took like 10 steps from Nana to Andie! I took about 10 photos of her progress, but didn’t think to start the video until she quit walking, and then we couldn’t get her to do it again to video. But she did it!!!

So here’s the fastest 1-second video ever, of them counting “7! 8! 9! Yay!”

We had dinner together, and Addison ate tons of chicken strips and French fries, and we were proud of the two “little” girls (Emmie & Andie) both finished their whole burgers, which is uncharacteristic of both of them.

We had some more playtime after dinner, and watched an episode of Jeopardy together.

And Jeff carried Addie around in this tote bag for a while, and although she looks terrified in this particular photo, she was really enjoying it and having fun.

Emerson of course wanted to have a sleepover with the big girls, so we left her there (luckily, we had a feeling she would want that, so Jeff had packed her a bag for just in case), and brought Addison home to get her in bed, and relax some ourselves. Hoping I can get some video of her little steps tomorrow!
