Bagel Sandwiches

(Post for Thursday, 3/31/22.)

Yesterday was super rainy & stormy, but Aunt Meggie and the triplets were waiting on us to do drop-off together when we got to school, which is always fun!

Megan had unknowingly worn the same pants that Bo had dressed the girls in, and she didn’t even realize it until we all got to school.

And Emmie was beautiful in her leotard and (messy) bun, ready for her little ballet class!

And then this was on the door of the her classroom when we got there, and wow that makes it seem so much more real that she’s going to Kindergarten at Gilchrist! Her little besties William & Andrew (that she’s been here at GR with since they were all only 2 months old), will also be going to Gilchrist, which I’m glad for. I also started talking to their mama about it, because they already have an older sister at Gilchrist, and have been loving it for a few years now.

Made some more popcorn for my afternoon snack at work, and this one was only slightly burnt (less that the first time at least), but I’m going to try it in a different microwave next time, and see if that makes any difference…

Started a new audio book yesterday – I’ve read two other books by this author already, and one of them I loved so much I’ve read it twice. (They’re actually supposed to be turning that one into a tv series as well I think!). I’m currently about 20% into this one, and very interested already. I’ll report back once I finish it, if I do indeed end up liking this one as much as I think I will…

Look at these little cuties loving on each other at the end of the day!

She hadn’t finished her bottle before I picked her up, but she drained it dry before we left the parking lot, then fell asleep as usual.

I made tuna sandwiches on the Panera bagels for dinner last night, with a cheddar bacon ranch side salad, and added the sweet pepper relish to my sandwich, from that cute general store we visited on our road trip home Sunday. And this was sooo good. That asiago bagel felt like such a special treat, instead of regular bread, and the sweet pepper relish really was delicious.

We’ve started trying to work more on the water-in-a-sippy-cup thing with Addison, and last night she really loved it. When she wanted some, she would kind of fuss and whine until Jeff held it for her, and she just drank and drank. Now we just gotta get her to hold it herself!

The girls had a bath after dinner, and a then a little bit of cuddle time in the living room all together, before starting on bedtime.

I didn’t end up writing this post last night however, because Emerson had an extremely rough night going to bed, and then we all had a really rough time with that. It was 9:30 (or maybe 9:45), by the time she finally went to sleep, but that was after lots of crying and fits and tears (and some tears from me too), and lots of stress and heartache. So by the time we finally got both girls settled, I was too exhausted both physically & emotionally to do anything, so I chose to start another episode of my comfort show / obsession, Survivor…

And I’m writing this now on my lunchbreak on Friday instead… (And shoutout to Jeff for uploading all my photos for me today, and editing the little bouncy “sticker” onto the video.)

But now, I’ll leave you with this adorable video of Emerson singing “Let It Go,” completely unprompted, after she “read” the book to herself, before everything went downhill…
