Addison’s First School Field Trip!

All three sisters for morning sister pics, with Addie in her new class t-shirt, and Emmie in a similar color to match. And Pennie just along for the ride 🙂

Jeff took the girls to school, and I stayed behind to pack lunch for Addie, and put dinner in the crockpot. Then I went to Black Dog Cafe again, to spend about 20-ish quick minutes hanging out enjoying the beautiful cool morning temps.

Then I drove out to Monticello to meet the kids on the school buses at Aunt Louise’s Farm, for Addison’s first school field trip! And we had the best time! The weather was super nice, and but also pretty hot, and although we thought we might die of thirst since we left the waters at the tables up front, it was so lovely. Love these super cute class t-shirts too, that match the “Game On” theme for the whole school this year.

When I asked her later, Addison said these giant corn pits were her favorite part. She actually asked to go back to it again later, but unfortunately we weren’t able to. She had the best time here though!

Always love making these cute little videos!

It was a sweet little field trip with my Little Tiny and her other little friends. I was very thankful I was able to go on this one, as I went on the same trip with Emerson back in 2022, for her first school field trip too!

Addie went back to school on the bus with her class, and I went up to downtown Monticello proper, to treat myself to lunch, coffee, and air conditioning 🙂 I found Tupelo’s Bakery & Cafe on Google for lunch (my fave way to find new restaurants & coffee shops is searching on Google Maps; I also have a list of favorite places here in town, if you’re interested), and it was so cute and quaint. I ordered today’s lunch special, the Haunted Hammy Sammy, and it was soo good. I only got a half sandwich, but I loved it so much I really wished I had a whole! Loved it in there.

And then I went back around to the other side of the main circle, to the Cow Haus coffee shop, for a delicious Cinnamon Roll iced latte from their October specials menu.

I then went to find a Little Free Library half a block away, and found a good book to check out.

Then once I started down Highway 90 back towards Tally, I just happened to find this incredible un-mapped LFL, that was just the cutest design!

I made it back to town shortly before school was over for the day, so I joined the long car-rider-pickup-line, and had about 20 minutes just listening to music and practicing our songs we’re singing for church on Sunday. Of course, after I picked up the girls, Addison fell asleep in the car on the ride home. Emerson took this next picture 🙂

We then had some nice calm afternoon movie rest time, with all three of us cuddled up on the couch, watching “Halloweentown” on Disney+ since today was the first day of October. Of course I fell asleep on the couch, but the girls finished watching the whole movie. When it was dinner time, I just heated up the leftover rice from Monday (I purposefully made double rice then, specifically for an easy dinner tonight), shredded the chicken in the crockpot, and then scooped up dinner into bowls. Crockpot salsa chicken with corn & black beans, over rice, with more salsa, sour cream, and tortilla strips. Yum.

I actually wasn’t feeling so hot tonight (it’s either allergies, or the start of a cold or something), so Jeff took Emerson to gymnastics tonight, so that Addison and I could stay home and rest, and I could get her to bed early. I edited today’s little TikTok video while she watched “Sophia the First” and then we got her in bed. She fell asleep within just a few minutes, because my girl was wiped after such a big day!

Emerson is home from the gym now, and watching me write over my shoulder. So now I’m gonna go get her to bed, and then probably try to get myself to bed at a good time tonight as well.
