Addison’s First Driving Lesson

Well, we had a bit of a rough start to our day…. I accidentally locked the girls in the car at daycare! I talked to Emerson through the window, and talked her through helping. She started to cry and panic (and although I was panicking inside, I stayed calm for her), because her fingers just weren’t strong enough to unbuckle herself, and she was struggling with the door lock too…

The whole ordeal only lasted about 2 minutes, and she was eventually able to unlock the door and I could open it up for her. I felt terrible and we had lots of loves, before I went to get Addison out. And while I was getting Addie out, I was so distracted that Uncle Bo and the triplets came up and surprised us, and they helped make our morning better!

Also, I’ve started carrying Addison in by herself instead of inside her car seat, but that means I can just set her down for photos, so that makes it a little more difficult to get good photos.

But Addison had a great day at school, and we got good photos from her teachers! I can hardly even believe that this girl is old enough to go out on the playground, and drive around in this little car! At just 10 months old, looks like she’s had her first driving lesson 😉

Emmie was running around on the playground when I got to school to pick her up, and she was singing, “Run, run as fast as you can, can’t catch me I’m the gingerbread man!” And I was like, “You’re right kid, I could never catch your fast little self!” She was dying of thirst and had to get some water before we could go get baby sis.

Baby Sister hadn’t quite finished her bottle when we got to her class, so I just stood right outside the door once I got her strapped in, and she finished the whole thing before we headed home.

And of course she fell asleep on the car ride home.

We had another one of those nights where we all picked our own random leftovers, and I just warmed it up for everyone. It’s super easy, and I feel good about not wasting leftovers.

Addison actually slept right on through our dinner time, but when she woke up, we fed her French fries and bananas, until she got tired of all of that. After Emerson’s dinner of butter noodles with chicken, she had a rice krispy treat for dessert, and then a whole banana, followed by a whole apple, and then a string cheese for her bedtime snack. I literally have no idea how she had room for all that!

We had just a little bit of hangout time when I fed Addie a bottle and Emmie colored and Jeff finished up a few minutes of work & laundry. Then I did Emmie’s bedtime routine, and Jeff rocked Addie to sleep.

I already washed up all the dishes and bottles and Tupperware earlier right after dinner, so now I’m all done with chores for the night. I never got around to painting my nails last night, so tonight will be the perfect night to do that, while we watch last night’s episode of Home Town on Discovery+.
