Addison’s 5th Birthday!

My baby girl turned 5 today!! When she woke up, she came into the bathroom where I was getting ready, and said, “Mama, I’m 5 years old now!” She was so sweet and came over and gave me the best birthday loves and hugs. Today she turned 5 on 5/5, Five on Cinco Taco Tuesday!

Jeff’s dad was able to get his truck fixed and back up and running as of yesterday, and he left it with us for Jeff to keep driving until his car is fixed. So Jeff took both girls to school today, as per our “usual” routine, and I went straight to my office.

Ice cream this afternoon with some of my work friends, as part of Correctional Employee Appreciation week.

And tonight then we braved the crowds on this most perfect Cinco de Mayo on a Taco Tuesday to have a little celebratory dinner for Addie at her favorite place. She really does always say that Echalee is her favorite spot whenever we drive by it! Jeff was able to hold a table for us, while I picked up both girls, and they got the food out to us really quickly after we ordered. So it really wasn’t too crazy!

The girls and I went straight home after dinner, and I got the girls into the bath, and worked on bagging up some of my old clothes to donate. Jeff ran to Publix to get Addie some birthday ice cream, and then once he got home he scooped up tiny bowls for the girls for their dessert.

I’ve been in a bit of a reading slump lately, partly because I started an audio book that was long and kinda boring and I finally decided to finish it when I got to the halfway point and still had 6+ hours left. And I also started a Kindle book that I was having a hard time getting in to as well, so I just kept dragging that out until I decided to quit that too, even though I only made it about 20% in. But today, I started a fresh new (short) audio book, and I got very lucky by being the first to hit “borrow” on the brand new book from the author of “The Help” when I got the notification my library had added the new Kindle book to their collection. (It however is very long, at 650+ pages.) But I had already started this book that publishes ine two weeks, that I got from my NetGalley ARC’s (advanced reader copy, they gave it to me for free), so I’m gonna try to squeeze that one in first, since it’s shorter and I’m supposed to read and review before pub day. Anyways, all that to say, I need to get back in my reading mojo, and hopefully these new options will do the trick!
