As we pulled on to the on-ramp this morning, Emerson kinda gasped and said, “Oh wow Mommy, take a picture! The clouds are so pretty!” She also loves seeing mist and fog at over the interstate, so this was so great for her today. And obviously we all know I loved it too!
And both girls were happy and sweet as always, and we had ourselves and easy drop-off.
At the Christmas party last night, my friend Britteny got the same cold brew coffee from the Frother’s Daughter that I did, but she didn’t drink much, and then forgot it in our stroller when they left before us… So I poured it into a mason jar and brought it to work today, and it was still so delicious. So thanks for forgetting that, Brittney 😉
AND, my sister walked over to my office today with a little cup of treats, just as a sweet surprise, and I loved that too!
Addie was here bellied-up to the toy-bar when we got there to pick her up this afternoon, She’s still just trying to hard to pull up, but hasn’t quite accomplished that yet.
We’ve been putting Addie in the pack-n-play in the dining room a lot lately, so that she can play and be contained while we work on stuff around the house, and it’s been very convenient. Emerson plays around with her and helps entertain her, and we can get things accomplished.
Yesterday, my parents cooked a big giant pancake breakfast for the senior adults at our church, and then brought over some of the leftover pancakes and sausage for us. So tonight I just warmed up the pancakes & sausage, and made some fresh scrambled eggs. Jeff went out do dinner with his buddy Ed tonight, so I was thankful for an easy dinner tonight.
Addison also tried some baby yogurt for the first time tonight, and although she was a little skeptical with her first two bites, she ended up loving it, and ate the whole tiny container!
I got the yogurt washed off Addie, and the syrup washed off Emmie, and then got them both in some clean, fresh jammies. We played for a little while, and then I sat down and tucked Addie into my arms, and got her to start settling down and falling asleep. Jeff got home just a few minutes after that, and we started working on bedtime.
Oh, and Sheppy forgot to go search a new spot last night, so she was telling him some places she thought he should go check out over the next few days… (So I’m literally getting up right now, before I even finish this post, to go move him so I don’t forget again!)
Look at how great her face is healing! Oral antibiotics twice a day, topical prescription ointment three times a day, and 9 days after the injury, it’s starting to look so much better!
Emmie went to bed really sweetly and easily tonight, and after plenty of sleepy cuddles I got Addie down easily as well.
However, about 20 minutes after laying her down, she woke up crying, finally ready for her bottle. We had discussed it before laying her down, but didn’t want to try to wake her up or force-feed her, so we figured she’d wake up when she was hungry. And she did! She drained her entire bottle for Daddy, and then fell back to sleep immediately.
I’ve got some dishes I need to wash, but I don’t think I have the energy for that. Maybe I’ll just wash the bottles and the coffee cups, and ignore the rest of it for the night. I’ve got sinus headache that came out of nowhere earlier (maybe it’s the weather tonight, with all the rain?), so I just need to grab some meds and get some rest.
