Today was finally the day of the kids choir Christmas musical play! We started off with a good worship set, and then went into the play, and the kids did such an amazing job, as always!!
Emerson had a little solo in the very first song, and one again a few songs later. This was also her first year as a main character with quite a bit of lines, and a wireless headset mic pack. Even though her mic had some technical difficulties, and she ended up having to pick up a hand-held mic every time. She adapted well, and made it work. She remembered all of her lines and did such an awesome job! All of the kiddos did an awesome job! Oh, and the name of this musical was “Wrapping all the Way,” and you can watch it on our church YouTube page here.

Aunt Meggie is the choir director, and this is her 12th musical! Emmie loves getting to do this with her, and I love that they get to do it together!

We had a big family lunch at Milano’s after church, and this baked ziti was so warm and cozy and comforting. But it was the only picture I took at lunch 😄

Emmie and I hit up a few Little Free Library’s after lunch, and although we didn’t end up taking anything at a few of them, the last one we stopped at was a gold mine and she found lots of awesome books. We also donated some from the box we keep in the back of my car for these trips.

Jeff and Addie had stayed home again today, because even though she still didn’t have a true fever (it never went above 99), she still wasn’t feeling well, and just wasn’t her usual self. Poor little nugget was pretty pitiful, and basically just wanted to hang on the couch (in the same outfit she’s been wearing all weekend). She kept asking for bananas though, and we didn’t have any, so her and Daddy took a little trip to Publix for bananas, and apparently a giant bag of popcorn too 🙂

Emmie and I had a mid-afternoon Walmart order to pick (with melatonin gummies, children’s tylenol and motrin, splenda and dish soap), so it was almost 3pm by the time we got home. I immediately laid down with Emmie to take a one-hour cat nap together. Then her and I went out to Hanger 38 for the kids musical celebration party! I stayed to help monitor and corral kids as well, since there were 30+ kids, and only four adults total. They had pizza, and got an hour-long arcade game play card, and then they got to bowl for 30 minutes. It was lots of fun and very chaotic, and they had a great time!

Addie was SO excited for us to get home, she was chatting my ear off and telling me anything and everything her little brain could come up with. I made myself a cup of hot tea, and she just jabbered and jabbered for like 20 minutes straight, and then got delirious and was acting all crazy. Jeff said she was clearly starved for human interaction, since she had just been stuck with him all day, and I agree with that!
She tried to convince us she wasn’t tired, but since that was said through tears with all the wining, and she never actually napped today, we knew better than that. But as always, the lullaby playlist never fails, and after prayers and cuddles and lots of loves, both girls were sound asleep just a couple of songs into the playlist…
I’m exhausted and overstimulated from the craziness of not just tonight but the whole weekend, so I really need some time to wind down before bedtime, and before a new week starts!
