Two Gymnasts

For some crazy reason, I scheduled double dentist appointments for the girls at 7:45am the day after our mini vacay. It was a bit of a rough, sleepy morning, but we made it right on time!

And the girls actually both had great check-ups. Clean teeth, no cavities, and Addie successfully managed her first set of dental x-rays, since she was too scared and wouldn’t do it last time they tried.

Meanwhile, Jeff went to the doggie hotel very early this morning to pick up Pennie. We actually tried to go last night, but we got there at 7:03pm, and they closed at 7pm, so we just missed them… so instead, he picked her up first thing this morning before he went to work. And she was obviously very happy to see him!

After work, I picked up both girls from school, and they ate PB(no J) sandwiches that I slapped together at my desk at work right before I left for their dinner. And then we made a little run over to Dunkin. They were giving out free PSL’s today with any purchase, so I ordered the girls one donut each, and I got myself an iced decaf pumpkin spice latte to take to the gym…

Because tonight was the first night of the new gymnastics session, for BOTH girlies! Emerson is back in her usual intermediate 2 class (after taking the summer off when she broke her arm on the first night of the summer session), and she was nervous but very much looking forward to it. And Addison started the kindergarten class tonight for her first gymnastics class!

Addie’s class started at 6:30, and Jeff came to meet us there and he mostly stayed with Addie’s class, as they moved around the gym, and eventually into the kinder room. And she had a great time and did so well!

Emmie’s class then started at 7pm, and I got back to my favorite activity of reading while she’s in class. She was worried about getting back on the uneven bars (which is what she fell off of when she broke her arm), so I had a quick chat with her coaches before class (they were new, and didn’t even know what had happened), but then one of her besties was in her class again for the first time in a while, and she was so happy to have here there, I think all of her nerves just evaporated, and they were giggling and having a great time, and she had no issues!

Jeff took Addison home after her class ended, and then Emerson and I finally made it home a little before 9pm. It was bedtime pretty much right away, but not without many, many loves and hugs for their Pennie-girl who they missed very much! And obviously they had to take her to bed with them too, and Pennie was so cozy and snuggly and didn’t move a muscle when I left the room.

Thank the Lord that Emmie’s first night back at the gym went well and she was safe and protected, and that Addie enjoyed it too. It’s going to be a busy semester diving into these busy nights, but I love seeing my girls having fun and doing things they love!
