Jeff hit the road really early this morning to go pick up the boys, so Emerson and I went to Canopy Road Cafe, to meet Grammy, Papa & Grandmommie for breakfast!
And wow, this cherry cheesecake pancake was delish. Emmie ate practically all of mine & Grammy’s eggs, plus lots of other things we all shared with her, like bacon, home fries, grits & toast.
Looking at some new dresses Grammy got for Tater Tot.
And then we went out to Megan & Bo’s house to visit with them and the triplet baby girls! We got to help get Riley dressed, and then help with their 9am bottles as well. After they ate, Riley & Kensley had a sweet little moment where they were staring at each other, and smiling so big! Meg said they did this yesterday for the first time, and it’s so precious. They’re finally starting to really take notice of each other!
Emerson is also extremely sweet with them. She loves getting them their paci, and wiping their mouths when they spit or make bubbles. She also gave them the sweetest little kisses on the tops of their heads.
She also “helped” Aunt Megan fold their laundry as well.
She had lunch, and then fought nap time for about 45 minutes, and finally gave up around 12:30. But then she slept for two hours! During that time, I had lunch myself, washed the dishes, cleaned the living room & kitchen, and vacuumed. And then once I sat down to rest & read, Emerson woke up just a few minutes later.
We played for a few minutes once she woke up, and then we went out to run some errands.
First, I dropped off one book to return to the library. Next was Publix for the BOGO deals, and a cookie from the bakery. Then we ran to Walmart for our grocery pick-up order, and finally stopped to fill up the gas tank on the way home. Also, I was yawning like crazy while driving around, so I grabbed this Frappuccino from Publix, for a little pick-me-up.
We did some more playing at home, where Emmie felt the need to take out every single blanket from the little crate, and sit in the middle of the pile paying with her dinosaurs.
And then I learned, even you’re a girl-mom, you might still end up with an armload of dinosaurs, and a few more on your shoulder during playtime.
Then we wanted a few minutes of quiet down time, so we snuggled on the couch watching some of her favorite videos. And she was being so sweet & cuddly! And then she was playing peek-a-boo with me.
And then right after 5pm, Daddy and the twins got home! They were all so excited to see each other, and it was precious. We made homemade pizzas for dinner, with a Caesar salad. Ryan was very sweet and helped me make the pizzas.
We had playtime for a little bit after dinner, and then Emmie got a bath before bedtime.
Emmie wanted the whole family to be a part of bedtime reading, so they all sat/laid in the floor while I read the books.
She fought bedtime again for quite a while, and it took Daddy about 30 minutes to get her to just chill out & calm down to go to sleep. But he’s finally out, just as I’m finishing up writing this blog. The boys have requested we play some games, so that’s what we’re gonna go do!
