Look how cute these girls were this morning! I love Emerson’s big giant smile, and Addie’s sweet little swoopy bangs. Gosh they’re just so adorable!
Flash-forward through school and work – I quickly picked up both girls, and we ran home super fast. While Emerson changed into her leotard for gymnastics, I made her a turkey & “plastic cheese” sandwich (the only kind of cheese she likes on sandwiches), and I made myself a turkey avocado with provolone, on my special keto bread. Simple, but very delicious.

Then I got in lots of good reading time while Emerson did her gym class. We skipped last week, in favor of an early bedtime before the zoo trip the next day, so they were all glad to see her tonight and were asking where she’s been. And by the way, I knew the other girls in her class were older than her, but I thought they were like 14. Turns out, they’re both 16 and they drive themselves to class, with my tiny 8-year-old girly!

She was still hungry and wanted some hot food instead of anything at home, so we went through the McDonald’s drive-thru for a Happy Meal on the way home. They were super slow, but we entertained ourselves with this pink sunset, and brainstorming birthday party themes, and asking ChatGPT to make a birthday party invitation.

Emmie ate her food, and then unfortunately had to do some homework, so that kept her up much later than usual. Sweet little baby sister ended up falling asleep on the couch, so precious with her little pink sloth.

After leaving her asleep on the couch for a while, Jeff was able to just carry Addison to bed and lay her straight down, totally asleep still. I took Emerson to her bed and she needed a lullaby or two, but she fell asleep very quickly.
