Towers & Taquitos

We did our sister pics among the boxed-up Christmas decor piled in the dining room this morning, glad for a little reprieve in the super cold weather.

And we loved seeing our trips and baby Hayden at daycare drop-off today! Can’t believe I forgot to take a picture of the baby boy though!

Kensley thought Addison needed to be carried all through the halls of the school to her classroom.

After work, I started up a new audio book, and I was instantly hooked on this one. All my other millennials need to read/listen to this one. It’s so spot on full of puns, and so nostalgic, talking about sleepovers, AOL, Limewire and American Girl dolls, in in just the first 20% or so, and I’m loving it so much already.

At home tonight, Jeff was out in the carport doing some work on his car, with both of the little girls outside “helping” him, while I took care of dinner. Poor little Pennie girl was feeling a little left out, and just laid right here by the carport door, waiting on someone to come back inside.

We had taquitos, yellow rice and beans for dinner, with some tortilla chips & salsa on the side too.

So last night, I accidentally stayed up wayyy too late watching a Christmas movie with Jeff, and working on my new puzzle. It was just so cute, and so fun putting together the adorable little houses, that before I knew it, the movie was over and it was 12:15am! I then had a hard time falling asleep for some reason, and kinda tossed and turned for like two hours before I finally fell firmly asleep around 3am. So this is as far as I made it, in just one night. I’m just obsessed with the adorable, colorful houses.

Emmie and I worked on her “creative academics” paper (her gifted class), for the special landmarks project due this week. She chose the CN Tower in Toronto, so we filled out all the information on the tower, and for the rest of the week we will work to engineer and build her own model of it!

During the landmark project time, Addie was having herself a fit in the floor. Poor little girl is just so exhausted by the end of the night, but also just so totally adamant that she’s not tired, she has a meltdown, and just confirms for us how tired she actually is. Emmie and I got another chapter read in her book at bedtime, and then we just talked and laughed and she is just so smart and cute and legitimately funny. And I was just reminded so much of how thankful I am for this sweet baby girl!

Jeff was able to get Addison calmed down and happy again, and eventually got her to sleep as well. She’s currently asleep in her bed, and as always, we’re hoping and praying she stays there and has a good nights’ sleep.

Now, I gotta wash some dishes and fluff up the faux Christmas tree branches, so that hopefully we can start getting some ornaments on it tomorrow night!
