Emerson finally made it back to school today! She was absolutely adorable in her little dress with matching headband, and I could just eat her up.
Work was super busy & chaotic as usual, but somehow my 8-hour work day felt more like 28 hours, and I was wondering how & why time was just standing still. I ate cereal for lunch and read “Little Women,” but didn’t even take a photo. After work, I went to daycare to pick up my Tater Tot and get some loves. Then Jeff met us there, and he took her, while I went out to the church for our monthly women’s missions meeting/Bible study. We had Publix sandwich rings (one of my all-time fave things) plus chips.
While I was at church, Jeff and Emerson had dinner at Red Robin with Nana & PopPop.
I got home much earlier tonight, just a few minutes after 8pm, which was good since my Tater would not go down without me tonight. And lucky for her, I brought her a snack from Grammy! Which she was clearly excited to see what the surprise was!
After her little cookie-snack, it was time to get her ready for bed. Once again tonight, she wanted to read us all of her night-night books. We also did a video call with Grammy (mostly her, but we also saw a little of G-mom & Papa), and she told Grammy all about the bears in her book.
She felt the need to set up some of her animals really quick, and then she settled in among them for me to read the caterpillar book.
And then I told her it was time to say prayers, so she ever-so-sweetly folder her little hands to pray. I asked if she was ready for Mommy to say her prayers, but she started praying herself instead! I couldn’t understand everything she said (even Mamas can’t decipher toddler talk sometimes!), but I know she kept saying “thank you for blah blah blah, and thank you for blah blah blah, and thank you for blah blah blah…” So she knows we have a lot to be thankful for!
It will come as no surprise, that it’s now time to make some popcorn and settle in on the couch to relax a bit before bedtime. Night, friends!
