Finally Fever-Free!

Baby girl slept all through the night last night, and woke up fever-free this morning! Praise the Lord! So she’ll stay home one more day with Grandmommie, and hopefully the fever won’t come back today, and she can head back to school tomorrow. She wanted some cereal for breakfast, and since I didn’t have to leave as early as usual, I got to sit with her while she ate, and get lots of hugs before leaving.

Last night while I was washing dishes, I finished up my first book of the year, “Dreams of Joy,” on audio book. So this morning, I started a new one on my way to work. This was actually on a summer reading list last year, but I never got around to it, and then I had to wait a long time for my hold to become available. In the meantime, I listened/read another book by this author (“Girl in Translation”) and really liked it. So I’m excited to finally read this one.

Of course I had leftover chicken noodle soup for my lunch today, and read “Little Women” on my Kindle app. I’m just about 50% through now, and very much enjoying it. I would like to be done by this weekend to maybe see the movie, but I doubt that will happen… A quote I read today that I literally LOL’d at, “Go and eat your dinner, you’ll feel better after it. Men always croak when they are hungry.” Too funny!

Grandmommie sent me more photos of my adorable baby girl throughout the day, and it seemed like she was doing great!

Even though Emerson was feeling better, and had been fever-free all day, we decided to just keep her home from church tonight as well. So Grandmommie stayed home with her until Jeff got home from work, while I met the family for dinner at Zaxby’s. It was definitely weird without those two with us like usual though!

Since I knew I would be at church so late, Jeff skipped church to get Emmie in bed. He picked up burgers for dinner, they played for a while, did some laundry, she had a tea party (that’s the blanket full of toys on the floor) and he gave her a bath. And then even though she wanted Mommy for bedtime, Jeff was able to get her to sleep before I even left the church.

Then I went to worship choir for about an hour and a half, and then had praise team rehearsal after that for close to an hour. All total, it was over two hours of singing, and I loved it! It’s good to get back in the swing of things too, back to a normal schedule.

In the middle of choir, Emerson really needed to video call Mommy. So I slipped out of rehearsal, and video chatted with my girl & hubby & puppy for a few minutes. She was a little pitiful at first, but then she perked up and was cute and sweet. I’m glad I got to see her sweet face for a bit, even through a phone screen!

I got home a few minutes before 9pm, and immediately started this blog post. Even though I missed getting snuggles from my girl tonight, it was nice to come home and have no real responsibilities, like dishes or bedtime. Mama just gets to relax now! And since Emerson was fever-free all day today, we can go back to regular schedule tomorrow! I know she’s had a great time with Grandmommie for these last few days, but I’m very glad she’s finally feeling better. I know she’ll love to see her friends & teachers tomorrow too!
