This goof ball was very excited about finding the pine straw this morning!
I, of course, brought the leftover pizza from last night’s dinner for my lunch today. I wish we had a toaster oven at the office to have heated it up in, but it was still really yummy! I’m a little over halfway through my current library book, slowly working my way through. Although, I have to say, this is probably my least favorite in the series so far. The “mystery” their solving is a bit mundane. All of the others have been exciting and slightly scary and really twisty and make you think…. But this one, eh, not so much…
Looks like Emmie had another good day at school. They are still working on potty training this week, so even though she hasn’t actually gone on the potty, she still sits on it multiple times a day, so that’s good practice!
On the way home, we were listening to one of the playlist’s I’ve created (our rule is “Jesus Loves Me” twice, and then different music, otherwise she would make us listen to it on repeat for forever), and Elton John’s “Tiny Dancer” came on. We listened to it the whole way, and at the end, she asked, “song again?” I asked, “did you like that song baby girl?” And she enthusiastically said YES! And I was so proud of her! I grew up listening to him with my mama, and this greatest hits album (pictured below) specifically, and I still love him so much, so that’s why I was excited for Emmie to like the song too!
Jeff had Deacon’s meeting at church tonight, so came home only long enough to play with Emmie in the backyard for a bit he grabbed food on the way to church. (And yes, our empty deflated pool was accidentally left to die outside, don’t judge too harshly.)
Which meant it was just Mommy & Emmie for dinner at home tonight. I made the easiest, fastest meal possible, since cooking with a toddler is sometimes super tricky. So we just had cheese ravioli (butter on the side for her; marinara sauce for me) with sliced carrots and ranch on the side.
I was so proud of her for eating the carrots so well, until she picked up her cup, and I saw this pile… Apparently she had been dipping them in ranch, chewing them a bit, then spitting them out when I wasn’t looking! 😝 This girl is a mess.
We spent some time playing together after dinner, and then got in jammies. This below was actually the start of her getting upset because her shirt wasn’t snapped like a onesie… Even though it doesn’t have any snaps…
And then later she got really mad at me when I wiped her runny nose with a paper towel instead of a wipe. So it was a really rough night to be a sleepy toddler. She did eventually chill out, and was actually really easy to get to sleep tonight. Jeff is almost home now, and we’re gonna just take it easy and chill, and probably look for a new show to watch.
