Laundry Helper

Little baby cutie pie, wanted to do some rockin’ this morning before church!

Daddy and Emerson dropped me off at church early for praise team rehearsal, and then they went for a little Daddy/Daughter donut date before Sunday School.

And then during our Sunday school class, we threw a small surprise baby shower for our friends Stephanie and Brandon! She’s due September 25th, so really, baby girl could show up anytime now, and they’re so ready!

Church was really good today too. Our praise and worship music was all so good. And our choir anthem was very powerful. After the choir sings our special song every Sunday, we all exit the choir loft, and head back into the choir room to put up our folders, before heading back into the sanctuary. Today, half of us were all teary-eyed and wiping tears, because the song was so good, we made ourselves cry. It was pretty incredible.

On the way home, I was using yesterday’s Publix ad to block Emmie from the bright sunshine. But then she wanted to hold it, and was very interested in it. I asked what she wanted to get from the grocery store, she said, “grapes, cheeseburgers, and applesauce!” So there’s our shopping list for next week! Haha 🙂

She also likes Mommy’s new sunglasses.

We grabbed roast beef sandwiches from Arby’s, and this girl went to town on her little slider!

Took a couple quick photos before nap time, and this little girl is just too cute to handle. Right?!

She went down for a short nap after lunch, and Jeff and I laid down to nap too. I was hoping she would take another super long nap like yesterday, but of course on the day we try to nap too, she only slept for barely over an hour. But at least she’s cute and happy when she wakes up! We went to visit Grammy and Papa for a few minutes, then had to go let out Jeff’s parents puppies while they’re out of town for the day.

I also stopped to pick up some holds from the library, and returned a couple of others. “Recursion” is the newest book by Blake Crouch, and it has gotten a LOT of hype over the summer. I read his last book, “Dark Matter,” two years ago, and it was SO GOOD. (Five stars for that one.) And I’ve actually heard this one is even better, so I’m super excited it was finally my turn on the long library holds list!

While I cooked dinner, Emerson helped Daddy throw a load of laundry into the washer. What a helper!

And I made THE most delicious pizza. This is actually a recipe/creation by my old friend Lacey, who used to make this all the time for girls’ nights. (They live in Indiana now though.)  And it is sooo good. Here’s the rundown… saute onions, sliced mushrooms, and a few handfuls of fresh spinach leaves, with salt, pepper & garlic.

Use the four cheese rosa sauce, topped with pepperoni (I use store-bought crust, but you could use fresh dough), and then spread out the sauteed veggie mixture. (You’re also supposed to throw in sun-dried tomatoes in with the veggies, but I forgot them in the cabinet.) Then top with mozzarella cheese, and bake until crispy.

And YOU GUYS. It is absolutely delicious. I couldn’t get over it. I don’t know what made me think of it lately, but I’m glad it popped into my head the other day, because now I’m going to be making this all the time! (Actually, I might make it again Tuesday, because the crust came in a 2-pack, and I still have all the other ingredients too.) I also officially named it “Lacey’s Pizza,” and even put it in this week’s meal plan under that name. So next time I make it, and call it Lacey’s Pizza here on the blog, you’ll know what I’m talking about…

I also threw together a little salad, using some of the fresh spinach leaves, and these delicious salad toppings.

Emmie had her leftover mac & cheese from McAlister’s the other night, and she ate soo much of it.

We played for a while after dinner, and she was so cute and sweet. She was also really excited to read the Snow Puppies book again tonight.

Jeff’s still working on some laundry here and there, and I’ve finished up everything in the kitchen. Now some TV time, then reading, then bed time for the grown-ups.
