Daddy got Addison dressed in a t-shirt today that was slightly too big for her, and yet obviously she was still adorable. And she was still rockin’ those same rain boots again.
And Emmie is still very proud of her braces, in this blurry picture daddy got.
After work today, I sent Jeff back to Walmart for our grocery pickup order, in a second attempt since last night was a bust. When he got there, all 13 of the normal spots were full, and there was a line down the far aisle about 10 cars long. Long story short, he pulled in at 5:45, didn’t get a parking spot until 6:50, and then he finally got the groceries at like 7:15. There were people cutting in line and stealing spots and employees giving out orders all willy-nilly. And then of the 29 items I ordered, there were still 5 items unavailable 😏 But at least we finally got most of what we need!
Meanwhile, I scrounged around in the freezer and cabinets and managed to put together a decent meal for the girls and I. Unfortunately, neither of them liked the meatballs, but they both ate two helpings of rice and lima beans. I thought the meatballs were fine though, especially with the caramelized red onion chutney from Aldi.
Since Jeff still wasn’t home yet, I got the girls into the bath, and then got them both dressed in clean jammies and brushed their little hairs. Jeff got home right as we were heading back to the living room, so I put away the groceries while he ate the Taco Bell he picked up, and we all watched a little bit of “The Wild Robot” together.
The girls went back to Emmie’s room together for a bedtime book, and Addie picked this one, settled in, and started “reading” it all on her own. There are only like six pages and one sentence per page, so she has started memorizing it from Emmie reading it too her… But it was so incredible cute!
Hey wait, I almost forgot I videoed it actually! This was the second time she did it, because the first time I wasn’t back there yet, but Emmie got Addie to read it a second time for me. And then she did it again a third time for Daddy too.
And after a bit of flipping and flopping and saying she wasn’t tired, she was out like a light after finally being still for like, one minute.
Gotta go wash some dishes now, but at least I ordered a new pair of Bluetooth ear buds after my others randomly died the other day, so I can start a new audio book. I got lucky and and just so happened to open the Libby app last Friday and found that the Onyx Storm audio book was available, even though it was brand new. I have no idea how there were no holds on it yet, but I snagged it so fast, so I can listen & read in tandem sometimes, and just listen other times like driving and doing chores.
Update – I just went to the kitchen to find that Jeff had already washed up most of the dishes, so we’re just gonna go with that for the night! Thanks, Hubby 😘
