The Pickle Sisters

Another cold morning for Sunday morning church, but luckily I added new tights to yesterday’s Walmart order, so she was good to go this morning. Not exactly sure what this crazy face is about, but she’s a sweet little goofball.

We went out to lunch with the family at SmashBurger after church, and although it took forever (those poor people did not have enough employees back there), it was a delicious mushroom truffle swiss burger.

Addie pie had some tater tots with Papa, and seemed to really love them.

After Emmie had a rough time last night getting a boo-boo bandaged, I told her she could pick out two prizes at the Dollar Tree today. SO we went in after lunch and she picked two little toys, and was so sweet about it. I also got her a pair of Valentines’ socks, and Valentines’ to give out at school. And as we were standing in line to pay, she was like, “All of this is for me, do you want to pick out something for yourself, Mommy?”

Jeff went back to do more of his side-hustle work today, so the girls and I went over to spend the afternoon with Grammy, Papa & Grandmommie. I got a few cute pictures of the girls in their pink & black & white outfits today, then we put on “soft clothes” and played for just a few minutes. I fed Addison a bottle, then got her to sleep back in the guest room recliner, so I just stayed back there with her and watched Survivor from the Google ChromeCast. Emmie slept in Grandmommie’s bed, and both girls took really great naps today.

Jeff took this little selfie of the stuff he was working on, and I thought it was cute 😉

When we all woke up, Papa wanted to give Addison a snack, so he chose a jar of gherkin pickles and let her just gnaw away on it. She never really got a bite, but she chomped on it for about 10-15 minutes! Emerson usually doesn’t like pickles, but she decided she wanted to try one too, so then they were both up there just chomping away (mostly sucking and gnawing, but not really eating), on tiny gherkin pickles. I thought it was hilarious, and kept calling them the Pickle Sisters, saying it sounded like an old school all-girls band, like, “Now taking the stage, The Pickle Sisterrrrrrs!!!” I knew then that that would be the title of tonight’s post!

Late in the afternoon, the whole rest of the family came over, for an unofficial family birthday party for me. Mom made all the stuff for taco salads, and it was delicious. I usually get tons of pics of the girls all playing together, but tonight, I just didn’t take as many for some reason…

My parents had already given me my gifts last weekend, but Meg & Bo gave me this stuff tonight, and I love it! So cute! Both of these things will be taken to my office tomorrow, to live there.

We stayed there a little later than planned, but made it home safe and sound, and Jeff got home at the exact same time we did. We were all very excited to see him and have him go through the bedtime routine with us. Both girls were easy to get settled down to sleep, and it was a pretty uneventful evening.

There’s a few things we need to do to get ourselves set up for the day tomorrow, but we both need some rest (Jeff more than myself, since he’s been working super hard this weekend), and then we’ll head off to sleep.
