First things first, today was wacky day at school, and this cute girl was all about this funny outfit.
But, I woke up feeling absolutely terrible today. (Actually, I woke up a few times in the night with chills, and knew I was probably really sick.) At first, I thought I might still try to go to work, but Jeff took my temperature, and I had a 101 fever. So clearly I couldn’t go to work. Jeff dropped me off at my doctors office, and then took Emmie to school & put her car seat in Nana’s car, before coming back to wait for me.
Turns out, the flu test was technically negative, but he thinks it would have been positive tomorrow, based on when Jeff was diagnosed/versus start of his symptoms, and the start of my symptoms only late last night. So he called in Tami-flu for me anyways, and also the nurse gave me a steroid shot in the bum to help jump start me feeling better.
Jeff said drop-off was a little rough (she is always more clingy to him when he does drop-off, I think just because it’s not the norm), but it looks like she recovered well and had a good day at school!
I spent the day going in & out of sleep, from the bed to the living room. My head was pounding most of the day, and I kept breaking out in a terrible sweat. I had some snacks on & off throughout the day, but mostly I was trying to make sure to stay hydrated, so I drank this entire Powerade zero, plus I refilled my water jar at least three or four times. And I also spritzed basically the entire house in this disinfectant spray that I got from Grove.
Finally around 5pm, Jeff went out to get us Chick-fil-A for a super late lunch, or more of an early dinner, because I was starving by that point.
Nana picked up Emerson from school after work, and took her to their church for dinner and such, to keep her out our germs for a little longer. Jeff is mostly better now though, after three days on Tami-flu, so he took clothes over for Emerson to spend the night at Nana’s house.
I really hated not getting to see my girl again tonight, or even give her any hugs and loves this morning, but I do NOT want her to get sick, and definitely not for me be the reason, so I know it’s best for her.
I’ve just been binge-watching “Anne with an E” on Netflix for a couple of hours now. It’s a super sweet show, with absolutely beautiful scenery and cinematography. And since I ate my late lunch/early dinner so long ago, it’s time for a snack and some hot tea, and then early bed time for me again for sure. I’m currently laying on the heating pad in the recliner, so it’s really just a matter of time before I pass out right here in this chair.
I’m staying home from work again tomorrow for one more day, just to make sure I’m not contagious. So now that Jeff is better after imploring y’all to pray the other day, please pray now that I get better, and that Emerson stays well!
