The girls actually let us sleep in a little bit, until about 8:15am, which felt so nice. Once we finally got up and moving out of the house, it was time for a late mid-morning breakfast at Wendy’s.
After we ate, I took Addie to the bathroom, and when we got back to the table, Emmie pulled out her trendy little flat hand sanitizer thing to spray down her baby sister. It was so grown-up of her and so cute.
Had to do a quick trip to Home Depot. The girls love riding in the race car, and today they were extra cozy with the blanket they brought in from the car. And I got myself a cutie little pothos plant! I’ve wanted one of this kind for a while, and I just happened to walk past a display of them, so I picked one out to bring home.
I loved Addie’s little legs crossed at the ankles in the car, and I loved Emmie reading another one of her new book fair books.
We decided to do an Aldi shopping trip today instead of Walmart, and stocked up on a few pantry items of theirs I like, like pasta sauce & teriyaki sauce & I got a whole 12-count little flat of yogurt because they were only 15 cents each. Emerson closed herself in the milk storage, and only someone as skinny as her would have fit in there!
We had lunch at home and then after I got Addie down for her nap, I fell asleep on the couch myself. Jeff and Emmie did their own thing, and actually still went to get a Walmart pick-up order, full of things like deodorant and hair products and paper towels, that we knew we wouldn’t be able to get at Aldi. We dud a quick living room tidy up when I woke up, and then once Addie woke up, I made a giant teddy graham iced latte and we went over to Nana’s house.
Jeff packed up some bikes and scooters in the back of the SUV, and they had a great time riding up and down Nana’s little flat, smooth, freshly paved cul-de-sac.
They climbed in the back of the car and were hanging out in there, pretending all sorts of different little things. I was sitting off to the side just listening to them, and Emerson said, “This is the biker’s hideout.” And then Addie made them clean it up because she thought it was too messy.
We made quesadillas with freshly sauteed peppers & onions, some real Mexican cheese Nana’s friends brought back from Mexico, and a rotisserie chicken from Costco. Then Jeff grilled them out on their Blackstone, and we had rice and beans, and it was delicious.
The girls had a bath at their house, and then we relaxed and watched a little bit of the original Willy Wonka movie before we headed back home. We read another Dora the Explorer story tonight, and Addie is so cute doing all the little interactive parts and chanting along.
OK, I haven’t re-done my nails in about a week or so, so I’m gonna do my little nail stickers I like so much, but that I haven’t done in a while, since they are instantly dry and won’t get messed up when I go to be, since it’s already 10:30pm and almost my bedtime.
