Teddy Graham Latte

I’m officially obsessed with my new homemade “teddy graham” latte, with my homemade cinnamon brown sugar syrup. Soo yummy. And it’s never too cold for iced coffee, even when it was like 34 degrees this morning. Also, I mentioned to Nana last night that I wanted some taller, bigger Mason jars, and wondered aloud if I could thrift some. She was like, “Hold on one minute,” and came back with two of these tall, skinny beauties to send me home with!

We took an early morning trip across town to hit up the big fancy Goodwill out by Killearn Lakes, to see if we found any good treasures. We didn’t really, but we still had a nice time browsing.

After our little thrift trip, we went out to visit at Grammy’s house for a little bit. Meggie and her kids were also there for a visit today, so we got to hang out with them for a while as well. And Grammy fixed all the big girls some tiny little cups of coffee for their morning treat.

They all thought we were watching “Jordan Trumpet” on the tv, but had no idea what was actually going on.

Grandmommie was doing her baby duty, holding Hayden while he slept during his whole nap. Addie spent a little bit sitting in there with them quietly, and then we tip-toed back there again to give them both quiet loves goodbye.

We made it back to our house in time for lunch at home. I made grilled cheese sandwiches and heated up some German potato soup from Aldi, and everyone ate it all up so good today.

It was also very easy to get Addie down for her nap today, and I actually didn’t fall asleep again while getting her down.

While Addie napped (and Jeff actually also fell asleep), I washed dishes, and then Emmie and I ran a couple more errands. We hit up another Goodwill (but left empty-handed again), and then the Dollar Tree (for honey only, but we also picked out Valentines’ for the girls to give out at school), before heading home. I gave Emmie a mani/pedi once we got back home, right as Addie was waking up.

We did a really quick living room tidy up when Addie and Jeff woke up. Jeff put the chicken in the Instant Pot for dinner, and then we left him inside folding laundry, while the girls and I braved the cold weather for a little bit of outside playtime.

We had chicken alfredo with tiny little shell pasta, and Caesar salads on the side. Emmie cleaned her pasta bowl, and Addie did too eventually, but it just took her wayyy longer. She likes us to save her meal and she comes back to it later at bedtime.

The girls played sweetly together for a long time after dinner, and I washed up a ton of dishes for the second time today. (They’re literally never-ending around here.) Then after I set the timer on their last five minutes of playtime, they cleaned up the “houses” they had constructed in the dining room out of pillows, blankets & baskets. We watched Bluey (while Addie finished up her dinner), and then got started on bedtime.

Both girls took longer than usual to get to sleep tonight, so it was after 9pm before they were both asleep in their own beds. We went around putting extra blankets around some of the doors and windows, hoping to keep out any extra bits of cold air…

Today was MLK Jr. day, so we had he day off work and school, for a 3-day weekend. We have half days tomorrow due to the impending SNOW (what in the world did I just write?!), and then a literal snow day on Wednesday. For real… what in the world is happening!?
