Jeff left the house super early this morning, to run the camera for the church livestream, so Emmie and I ate some donuts and introduced Emerson to “Finding Nemo.” She got a stuffed Dory key chain in her happy meal last night, and wanted to know all about her.
The cold brew takes 24 hours in the fridge, so I got it all put together this morning at 8am, so it’ll be read for us tomorrow morning at 8am, perfectly in time for starting another work-week.
And of course I always have my little helper near-by!
She brought me this pinwheel, and so sweetly said, “let’s blow on this together, Mama.”
Well it turns out Jeff had his camera duties mixed up, so it wasn’t his turn today. He got all the way out to church, found out it wasn’t his week, and came back home. he picked up our Walmart grocery order for us while I showered, then the three of us got to go back out to church together. Look at how absolutely beautiful this girl is!
We’re still not having nursery/childcare (which makes things tricky), but Emmie did very well in big church today. She ran around getting the wiggles out before church started, but then she did a really good job being mostly quiet and sweet and just entertaining herself with the things we brought in her little backpack.
Emmie said she wanted tacos for lunch, so we went through the drive-thru at Taco Bell, and took it home to eat lunch together. She was exhausted, but ate really well, and then we got her down for nap time.
She slept for two hours, and Jeff and I both napped a little bit as well. I only slept for about 30 minutes, but Jeff slept almost the entire time, but we all woke up feeling refreshed! Nana came over after Emmie woke up, and had a little play time with her this afternoon. And Emerson was very proud to show off her new kitchen!
After getting her room cleaned up and put back together, Nana headed out and I made us some dinner – sweet potato tots (these are the best) and and homemade turkey burgers.
I got this three pound thing of ground turkey today because I am making three different turkey things this week (just kind of a weird accident/coincidence), but for the burgers you just do 1 pound of meat, 1 egg, 1 packet of ranch, and 1/4 cup butter, shaved straight into the meat mixture. And they turned out so good! Oh and I sauteed plenty of onions to top them with, which is one of my favorite toppings.
Little Bit didn’t want a burger, but she ate every bite of her “cheese noodles!”
We had some reading/cuddling/movie time after dinner, and my girl was so sweet and precious and gentle and I just love her so much!!
She was rubbing her eyes and looking very sleepy, so we made sure to get her down early tonight.
After getting Emerson down, we did a Zoom Sunday school meeting with our class, which was really nice. It’s a little late now, and there are only a few dishes, so those can just wait till tomorrow, because I’m ready to just settle in and chill out for the rest of the night.
Today was a really, really sweet day with our family, and I enjoyed just about every single second of it. (Except for the part where I’m totally exhausted with this whole potty training ordeal, but I’m not gonna dwell on that.) Today was a very sweet Sunday, and I’m thankful for normal, sweet, precious, run-of-the-mill days like today!
