Group drop-off for four of our girls all together this morning, and they just all happened to be wearing yellow today! Riley was so sad that Emerson wasn’t in the car this morning, but she was excited to see Addison so that distracted her enough.
Daddy dropped off Emerson at VBS again this morning, and she said today was a great day.
And then after VBS, Nana picked up Emerson from the church (after getting to watch the VPK class perform their cute little memory verse), and then dropped her off at school for the afternoon. And they both had a good day at school!
Then I got to pick up both my sunshine yellow girls at the end of the day, and Emerson was very proud of this rainbow elephant she colored today.
When we got home, Emmie and I fitted a few pieces into our puzzle…
And then Daddy played with both girls while I cooked dinner.
I made the egg-roll-in-a-bowl recipe tonight, for only the second time, and we all loved it again. This was all the meat & veggies (with carrots, bell peppers, onions), before adding in the bag of cole slaw mix as well.
Addison made a huge mess during dinner, but ate everything I first gave her, and then ate more out of Jeff’s bowl as well. She was so messy (even with a “feed bag” bib on), that Jeff just took her shirt off after we finished. We all sat in the floor playing for a while after dinner, The girls ate some more Jell-O, and Emmie ate half of one of these giant Tasty Pastry cookies one of my mom’s friends got for all five of the girls.
Addison kept digging further and further into this toy basket, and eventually, she had her head allllll the way inside the basket digging toys out of the very bottom.
And then while Jeff fed Addison her bedtime milk bottle, of course we had to spend a few more minutes working on our puzzle before Emerson’s bedtime. I know I’ve already said this, but I’m just so surprised at how well she’s been doing with this, and how many pieces she’s put together all on her own.
Then we had a good time reading one of her old open-heart-surgery-era books, and had a fun video call with Grammy & Papa.
Addison had fallen asleep with Daddy very easily, and was more than ready to lay down in her crib.
I spent about 10 more minutes working on my puzzle (and gave myself a back-ache from leaning over it in funky positions), and then came back to write this post. I’ve been putting off part in the middle with the subway line, because it’s really difficult, but that’s almost all that’s left now…
I’ve got quite a sink full of dishes tonight, so I’ve really got to go deal with as much of that as I can before collapsing from my puzzle-back-ache 😉
Also, today’s post title is a slight twist from a fake “spell” in Harry Potter, “Sunshine, daisies, butter mellow; turn this stupid fat rat yellow.” But it just kept coming to mind with all these five little girls dressed in yellow today!
