Spring Ballet Recital

We actually got to sleep in a little bit this morning, and then we had breakfast at home, before finally heading out. I dropped off Emerson at school around 9am…

While Addison slept in the car…

And then I took Addison to the pediatrician’s office for her 1-year well check-up appointment. She’s still a teeny tiny girl, at just 16 lbs & 28 in long, somewhere around the 15th-ish percentile for both. But she’s way ahead of all of her gross motor milestones, and doing great! She also got some shots today, but in her typical angle-baby-fashion, she stopped crying within just a few seconds, and in just a few minutes she was already laughing and back to normal outside!

My leftovers from dinner last night were super delicious again for lunch today, which I ate while working through my actual lunch break, since I got into work late and then left early again this afternoon.

I just so happened to be picking up my girls from school at the same that Meg & Bo were picking up their girls, to come to the ballet recital tonight. So at the last minute, we decided they would take Addison to meet the rest of the family for dinner beforehand, and I could just take care of Emerson. And that worked out so well!

I took Emerson back out to Epiphany, to get ready for her spring ballet performance! We just had to hang out in a back room for a long time beforehand, but Emmie got to play with some of her little friends from school, and I got to chat with one of her friends’ moms. The theme was “The Greatest Showman,” (like the movie from 2017), and Emmie and the rest of her class were the little clowns, so they had red noses and pink cheeks to go along with their cute little accessories.

The church sanctuary was absolutely packed, and our family was kinda just stuffed into the back corner by the doors, in a few folding chairs, standing, and even sitting on the floor. The triplets were spread out among the whole family, trying to let them see –  Grandmommie had Ellie, Nana had Kensley, and Bo had Riley. We also took turns passing Addison around too. And Aunt Suzanne and Uncle Keith also came to watch.

It was absolute chaos in there, and we could barely see Emmie dancing, but if you look very closely in these photos, you can barely pick out Emerson tucked in towards the center of the pack.

Some of the family had to slip out early after watching her dance (the triplets were way too loud and squirmy), but she was very glad to see Grandmommie, Grammy & Papa. And Grammy & Papa brought her some beautiful flowers! Papa picked them out, and said he thought she’d like those colors the best 🙂

We were so very proud of our sweetest little ballerina, and all that she’s learned this past year in ballet class with Ms. Dyanne and her Killearn Lakes Dance Troupe!

She wanted to take a couple of goofy pics first…

And then I got her to agree to a pretty, “fancy” (portrait-style) photo. She is just so beautiful! Even with a sweaty hair-do and her clown make-up mostly smudged off, she’s just such a beautiful, precious, sweetheart girl!!

I had gotten Emerson a kids meal on the way out to the church earlier at 5pm, but she didn’t eat much, and we were all hungry, so Jeff and Emmie picked up some snacks and drinks on the way home, and we stayed up late eating in the living room and watching tv. Then Emmie and I cuddled together for a little bit, while Jeff rocked Addie to sleep.
