We had a very busy day today! We had cereal for breakfast, then I had to drop off Emmie at church at 9:30 for the Christmas musical dress rehearsal. Then I dropped of some Goodwill donates, and also went inside and was able to thrift a few perfect condition books for Christmas gifts. I picked up our Walmart grocery order, and took everything home to get it all put away. Meanwhile, Jeff took Addie to Urgent Care, because she woke up in the middle of the night not feeling well, saying her ear and throat both hurt, and it still hurt this morning. Her rapid strep test was negative though, and her ear was only slightly red. But they gave us some antibiotics for the ear just in case.
After picking Emerson up from church at noon, I prepared us all “snack plates” for lunch. The main part of the girls’ plates were actually just little Lunchables, with a boiled egg and a tiny scoop of cottage cheese added. But for Jeff and I, we had salami and pepperoni, with the best Unexpected Cheddar from Trader Joe’s, and delicious crackers, plus boiled egg & cottage cheese for me. And this delicious olive spread from Aldi that I’ve had for a while was amazing with this as well.

I took a short little couch nap after lunch, and then Emmie and I went back out for some errands and Christmas shopping. And of course we had to go by 7Brew as well. I got an iced Rocky Road Mocha and today was a free kids drink so Emmie got a free kids’ sized peach & strawberry smoothie.

We picked up a book real quick from the library…

And did some shopping at Five Below for her friends’ birthday present.

And then a quick trip to the thrift store, where we actually didn’t find anything to purchase there this time.

Jeff and Addie had stayed home and he got her to take a nice long nap. When they woke up, they went to Publix to pick up her prescription, and get some dinner while they were out.
Emmie and I ran one more (secret) errand after the thrift store, and then I took her to her friends’ birthday party at her house. They had a sushi & boba night, and made shrinky dinks and did karaoke together. But I actually left her there on her own (I felt very comfortable with the parents and the house, having met them a few times over the years at other parties and them also going to East Hill for summer camp), and I treated myself to a little solo sushi dinner of my own!

I literally never go out to eat by myself like this, but I love Kiku and I’m comfortable there, and I also had my Emotional Support Kindle with me to read while I waited. It was all decked out in Christmas lights in there, and it was so cozy and festive and felt like I was inside a Christmas movie. And I kinda loved my solo sushi date!

I hit up a few Little Free Library’s after dinner on my way back to pick her up from the party, and lucked out with a couple of good finds. I had to really work to get her away from the party when I got back, and she had to play a few more rounds of hide & seek before we could finally get away.
By the time we made it home, it was about 8:30, and time to get started on bedtime. My poor little Addie was kinda pitiful and just not her usual spunky self. But both girls were sleepy and ready for bed, so at least that went easily. I feel like I’ve been running around all day, and now I’m more than ready to sit down and rest a little, and probably play some games on my phone, before time to go to sleep.
