Emerson had half of the last leftover biscuit for her pre-breakfast appetizer at home this morning, and we saved the other half for tomorrow.
Then this cool girl wore her glasses in the car on the way to school.
We’ve started doing her morning drop-off photos outside before heading in, and then the entire drop-off experience just goes better. She will march right into her classroom, and even though she might still fuss & whine a tiny bit, she’s mostly good overall, and I’m able to leave much easier. Also, how cute is this little smiling pineapple on her shirt with the sunglasses? And how cute is this girl when she figured it out all on her own?! You can tell she loves it, but also that she’s proud of herself.
Leftover sweet & sour meatballs for lunch today were still just as delicious as last night. And I made big progress on “Educated” today, and it’s really good. It was actually due back the library today, so looks like more fines in my future! But I’m hoping to read another giant chunk on my lunch break tomorrow, and only keep it a few days extra…
And it looks like Emerson had a great day at school today! She also started practicing drinking out of a little plastic cup today, instead of a sippy cup, which she will switch to full-time soon. And then that will be so nice when we don’t have to wash three sippy cups every single night & send them to school every single morning!
One of her teachers did her hair like this, and I think it’s adorable!
She was taking good care of her baby doll, Cracker (Aunt Meggie named her that, no one really knows why, but it stuck!), and just being so sweet!
We had individual pizzas and Caesar salad for dinner, and it was so yummy! Emerson ate a TON tonight. I gave her ¼ of one of the pizza’s, a little pile of shredded Mozzarella cheese, some croutons, and a fruit pouch, and she ate all of it, plus extra helpings of cheese and croutons!
Folding her hands to pray!
And then she wanted some Cheeze-its, while playing in a big pile of pillows and blankets on the couch.
Then after that huge dinner, she got some exercise by riding her bike for a couple laps around the house 😂
She found this bear tucked away in her room, and fell in love with it tonight! When you press the little paw, it says the “now I lay me down to sleep” prayer, and she loved it. We listened to the little prayer four or five times after getting in her nightgown. But I told her she couldn’t keep the bear in her bed at night since it talks, so she hugged & kissed it goodnight, then put it back in the basket to sleep!
She read “Peter Pan” to me tonight, which was adorable. Then I read every other page of “Coco,” and finally the “Dada” book that’s been our constant for the last six-ish months.
Jeff is doing some remote computer work for someone in the front room, I finished up all the dishes, and the boys are sitting quietly on their phones in the living room. We finished “Stranger Things” last night, so now we want to find something else to watch. The boys will be here with us for just under three more weeks still, so that’s still plenty of time to binge watch a shorter series with them. But what should it be? We have a few ideas (like the new “Lost in Space” on Netflix), we just didn’t land on anything yet. (Side note – we are fine with TV-14 with them, but nothing higher.) Anyone have suggestions?
