Emerson looked absolutely adorable in her new cherry print dress we got at Walmart a few weeks ago. She looks good in almost everything, but light pink is a good color on her 🙂
She wanted to take this sticker sheet to school today to share with her friends, and she wanted to hold it in the car. So when I opened the back door at school, she had this one on her forehead. I said something like, “well look at you with a sticker on your head!” And she was like, “Yes, don’t take it off, Mommy!”
I told her to lift her chin so I could get a good picture of the sticker on her head and she threw her head back and tried to say something, and her throat felt funny, so that’s why she was holding her neck in these…
I had to get out and run some errands today at lunch, so I stopped in the new Lucky Goat location on South Adams, to treat myself to an afternoon cold brew pick-me-up. I got the flavor of the day, which was chocolate caramel (plus cream & Splenda, thank you very much), and it was soooo good. And the store is so bright and open and pretty!
I brought it back to my office with me, and ate this little Stroopwafel for a snack, that is super good and I actually found at the Dollar Tree! Apparently United Airlines gives them out as their in-flight snack, and people really love them, and I can’t blame them! The pack says it’s “2” waffels, but it’s just one cookie with the caramel filling between two waffels. But it’s sooo good.
I’m not really sure if Emerson napped at school today, because it shows what time she supposedly started her nap, but not when she woke up, and I’m afraid that means that maybe it only lasted for a few minutes and then she woke up super early, and while they waited to see if she would fall back asleep, they forgot to update it. (I know that’s happened before.) But regardless, it looks like she had a good day!
As I was driving to school to pick up Emmie after work, Nana called to see if we had plans, because she wanted to take me dress shopping, for a new dress to wear to my cousin’s wedding next weekend. (She’s actually super good at picking out dresses for me, and always gets me good dresses for Christmas or birthday gifts!) So we made plans really quick to meet up at Smash Burger for dinner, and then dress shopping at Ross afterwards. (When I’m in the right mood for digging through the racks, I can find really good dresses there!)
This was her smashing down her burger, after we talked about the cooks smashing down the burgers for us.
This goofy girl insisted on trying to sit on the bottom of the buggy, even though we warned her it would not be comfortable. She only lasted for literally 5 seconds, and then was whining to get out…
And then she helped Nana try on a pair of shoes. And funnily enough, her and I both ended up buying a pair of the same ones (the nude ones she’s not trying on below), because they were just so crazy comfortable, and only $22.99, for a nice name brand (that Nita recognized but I didn’t)!
We did end up finding two new dresses (one for $8.99 and one for $10.99!) and a little white cardigan to wear with one of them (for only $11.99). We also got one of those couch/tv tray things that the bottom slides under the couch, but I just put it up, and I don’t like it. It’s too tall and sticks out too far from the end, because of the way it’s made. So I think we’ll need to return it.
And would you look at this sky when we walked out of the store?!?!! This is no filter! I didn’t even touch up the colors or anything. It was absolutely gorgeous. We also saw a huge airplane right before I snapped this photo, that was flying super low, directly over the parking lot. It looked like it was probably having to circle around before landing, because we saw it pass by again in the other direction (kind of figure-eight style) a few minutes later. But this sky though!! 😍
It was supposed to be bath night tonight, especially since she wore sandals to school today and then played in the rubber mulch that always makes her super dirty, but since we stayed out shopping too late, we had to settle for a quick foot-washing in the kitchen sink, and some baby wipes while changing clothes. But look at the difference between her clean foot and her dirty foot! She is the messiest little girl sometimes. 😂
But she’s also the sweetest girl!
Bedtime was a little rough, because she was just so super tired, but it definitely wasn’t as bad as some of our worst nights. She chose Daddy to rock her and do lullabies tonight, but she gave me really good hugs and kisses before I left her bedroom.
Jeff and I are both exhausted tonight, and thinking we need to go to bed early. We’ll see if that happens though. We’re currently watching news clips about coronavirus and such (which is all just crazy and scary and whoa all at the same time), and then hopefully we’ll put ourselves to bed soon.
