Going to fly through this post tonight, since it’s almost 10pm already… We had a quick breakfast at home, hung out just a little, then got dressed to head over to Havana.

Emmie signed in to take a quick AR test on an axolotl graphic novel she read this weekend, and then we made breakfast for lunch.

I had my low-carb protein shake for my actual breakfast, and then skipped my usual morning low-sugar yogurt snack, in anticipation for homemade chocolate chip pancakes, which obviously I knew I was gonna have to eat… And it was totally worth the splurge.

Then we spent the next three hours outside at the local small town park, letting the girls play on the playground and ride their bikes. Addie also spent half the time just chasing after her sister, running behind her while Emmie rode her bike. It was very cute and very sweet.

Back at Nana’s, we were all parched (we had taken water but it had run out), and the girls were in NEED of a snack.

We played out in their backyard for another hour or so before heading out, and obviously Addie “wasn’t tired,” but immediately fell asleep in the car. We had to stop by Walmart for literally a 3-item pick-up, and then the auto parts store for Jeff to grab some stuff.

As soon as we got home, I prepped some sweet potatoes for roasting, the girls kept playing, and I read a little bit in the front room.

We had turkey burgers (sans bun for me) and roasted sweet potatoes for a quick dinner, and then I took Emerson to gymnastics. She’s just the cutest girl!! She was also the only one in her class tonight, so she had two teachers and just her, and it was like having her own private lesson and she did amazing.

Didn’t take long after we got home to get started on bedtime, and both girls crashed out hard.

Jeff has been working on his car ever since we got back home this afternoon, with a couple extra trips back to the store for another part, or another tool, but he thinks he’s just about gotten it finally….
I finished the season two finale of “Silo” last night (it was SO good), and unfortunately that’s all that’s been released so far. Supposedly, season three will come out later this year, hopefully! So now, I’ve been just re-watching the pilot episode of “Dawson’s Creek” in honor of James Van Der Beek’s passing last week. I re-watched this whole series just a couple of years ago, so I doubt I’ll re-watch the whole thing again now, but you never know… the 90’s high school nostalgia might just suck me in!
It felt like such a Saturday today, having this Monday off, but I’m glad we got this extra holiday today!
