Six Months

Since we have the day off tomorrow, ballet class was moved from Thursday to Wednesday this week. So it was perfectly appropriate for Emmie to wear her new ballerina dress today! And another “new” pair of shoes from the hand-me-down box.

And Addie looked so beautiful in this “new” hand-me-down purple outfit that used to be Emmie’s!

I didn’t plan to take another photo of my avocado toast again this morning, but my avocado was so pretty and so perfect, and I just loved the bright green.

Look at my cute little ballerina, just casually doing her “N” work in her leotard and tutu.

And it looks like Addie’s class got to play with bubbles in their room today!

I picked up Addie early from school today, to take her to her 6-month check-up, and poor girl had just fallen asleep like, 5 minutes before I got there. She looked so sweet and I hated to wake her up.

She was a sweet pea at the doctor’s office, and we loved seeing Dr. Abby today as always. This tiny peanut is 13 lbs 14.5oz (10th percentile), and 26″ long (51st percentile). So although she doesn’t weigh much, she’s getting longer, and so we’re right on track at 6-months, wearing 6-month clothes as well. Abby said she’s very “motor-advanced” with all of her rolling and pseudo-crawling, and pushing up on her knees in the crawling position. She’s pretty much doing all the things a 9-month-old should be doing, at 6 months! So, it was a great appointment!

Although she did have to get shots today. She screamed the absolute HIGHEST pitch scream I’ve ever heard. My ears were literally ringing, and I thought my ears my explode. But she only screamed for about 15 seconds, and then Mommy got her calmed down super quickly!

Also, I took this photo last Saturday, and am finally sharing it here!

So I had woken her up from her 5-minute nap, then she stayed awake for the next 2 hours during our drive & appointment time, so once we finished the shots and got in the car, sweet little chickpea was asleep within all of 15 seconds. So I put in an online order for an iced latte from RedEye, and drove through for curbside pickup. I got the white honey vanilla half-caf, and it was sooo good.

Then I decided to do a quick browse through Trader Joe’s before picking up Emerson. I covered Addison in her little car seat cover, and she slept the whole time through my 20-minute shopping spree.

I picked up Emmie early from school, and then once we got home, I fed Addie a bottle then she fell asleep in my arms, and Emmie played on her Kindle while Jeff kept working until 6pm.

Oh, and here’s about half of the stuff I got from Trader Joe’s. I also got some frozen Asian food (veggie fried rice, dumplings, and gyoza), plus some mango applesauce pouches for Emmie.

For dinner, I made a new recipe for a one-pot sausage & rice with peppers & onions skillet-thing. It was quick and easy and Emmie and I both loved it, but apparently Jeff doesn’t Italian sausage, so he wasn’t a huge fan. This was news to me though, since this is the same sausage I always put in my frittata, which he likes, or at least I thought he liked it, so he didn’t love this tonight. But oh well! 😉

They started working on a new little dance in ballet today, about turkeys and Thanksgiving, and Emmie was telling us and showing us at dinner tonight. If you can’t understand her in the video, she says, “I love your wings. I love your beak… I love your wings. I love your beak… I don’t know the rest of it, I forgot some.”

Lots of splashing in the bathtub tonight, and we soaked the tiny girls’ Band-Aids to pull them off more easily.

We let Emmie stay up a little later tonight since we’re all staying home tomorrow, so she got to watch a little bit of a movie, and then she had some Daddy-cuddle-times in our bed before finally getting her down for sleepy time.

I gave Addie another bottle while Jeff and Emmie cuddled, and then she instantly fell asleep after she finished. I got to hold and cuddle her for a while, before finally laying her down around 9pm.

Gonna go work on the dishes, then try to rest a little, before heading off to bed soon. Excited to have even just one random day off in the middle of the work-week, to get more family time with my hubby and my girls!
