Cinnamon Rolls, Cinnamon Popcorn, Cinnamon Chai

Jeff and I both had the day off work today, so of course we kept the girls home with us for a nice family day. We got up early to feed Addie her first bottle around 5:40am, then fell back to sleep for a while. Emmie got up around 6:45, but played quietly on her Kindle in her room, until we all got up and moving around 7:30. It was a nice slow, lazy morning making breakfast and coffee, and just hanging around not doing much.

She had her own mug of iced coffee today, which was mostly creamer, with a splash of coffee 🙂

We pulled out this necklace kit that Grammy gave her for her birthday, and we made a couple of necklaces. I tried really hard (and mostly succeeded) to not interfere with how she made hers, and let her do whatever she wanted. But she let me make two of my own, and then I felt better making them color-coordinated and symmetrical. 😉

I put this new outfit on Addison today, and it came with this strip of fabric that I attempted to tie on as a headband. But I didn’t really know how to do it, so it was kinda flopping around all crazy. So I tried spinning it around with the knot at the back, and she kinda looked like a hippie. Hours later, I was holding her after feeding her a bottle, and realized her tiny shorts had belt loops on them, and the strip of fabric was actually supposed to be a belt, not a headband!

(Emerson had taken her PJ pants off, so I did some very “creative” editing on this photo, because these girls together were too cute not to share!)

Tuna sammies with cheese & crackers for lunch, with the leftover sweet tea from our Sunday school class party last weekend.

Emmie went down for a nap right after lunch, and so did Addie. Emmie slept for about 1.5 hours, and Addie slept for just over two hours! I had spent a bunch of time this morning rotating Addie’s clothes around to get to the next size of Emmie’s hand-me-down bins, and then I headed off to shower while the girls both napped. I put on Taylor Swift music and closed all the doors and turned the water super hot, then stayed in there longer than I ever do and sang along just enjoying some “me” time.

Emmie  helped pick out her outfit when she woke up, and then dug into this special snack that Grammy got for her, and I made myself an afternoon “iced” (cold) chai.

Then once Addison finally woke up, we all loaded up and headed to a nearby park, to meet up with Emmie’s little friend Olivia. She started a new school back in August, and these girls have missed each other! We stayed there playing for a little over an hour, and they had such a blast together!

And then we met  up with Jeff’s parents for dinner at Texas Roadhouse, in honor of Veteran’s Day, because Jeff’s dad is a navy vet! But we didn’t take many photos at dinner….

Emmie made herself a little fort for a short time while we got some stuff taken care of around the house and for Addison, and then we headed on back to get her ready for bed.

It took me a looooong time tonight to put together that little video of the girls at the park, because the editing program kept acting up, and then the quality looked horrendous, so I had to re-do it, and then I had to get Jeff’s help. It’s still a little fuzzy, but we’re going with it for tonight, and then tomorrow he’ll work on saving a fancy 4K video for me to save forever. I’m totally exhausted now, and it’s super late, so I’m heading off to bed! Strange that we have work and school again tomorrow though, right!?
