Sisters Make the Best Buds

Today was one of those days filled to the brim with stuff and adventures and food, so we’re going to do one of those photo-dump posts, with minimal writing. So let’s get into it!

Shipley’s donuts & coffee from home for breakfast, followed by a little bit of playtime around the house.

Then the girls and I made a Walmart run for a few things inside the store, and to pick up our grocery order, while Jeff stayed home to mow the yard. Look at these cuties – their little matching shirts say, “sisters make the best buds!” And I’d have to agree with that myself as well 🙂

After dropping off the cold stuff, we met up with Grammy & Grandmommie for lunch (while Jeff met up with one of his friends for lunch too). Emerson requested Chinese food, so we wen to the Panda Buffet, where I’m pretty sure she ate more of the dessert stuff than anything else.

The girls and I hit up two different Goodwill stores on the way home, looking for those specific books I’ve been hoping to find all summer. We didn’t find the books I wanted, but Grammy had given Emmie some cash to find herself a puzzle, and she ended up picking out one book and two puzzles, for exactly the $6 Grammy had given her.

We went home for Addie to nap, and Emmie and I had some movie-rest-time in the late-afternoon rainstorm, and lit the new candle we picked out at Walmart. Not only is the jar cute (there are thin gold leaves on the other side), but the name is funny (“Sangria is my favorite fruit”), and it reminds me of my favorite Love Spell body spray from Victoria Secret that I was obsessed with, which was gifted by a friend in college. 💜 I’d say this was $6 well-spent. #pullenscozycorner

Emmie crawled up in Jeff’s lap when he got home, and couldn’t help but fall asleep with him once she was all warm and cozy.

We tried to go to the library, but we had their hours mixed up, so we didn’t make it before they closed. And then we tried to go to a playground, but everything was wet. So we just walked around Cascades for a little while.

But then it started raining, so we decided to go get a snack, at this fun little popcorn dessert place I’ve seen online, called Pop Fun Chew Cafe, and it was really awesome. They have all these games you can play, just open for free, and they make the popcorn fresh after you order.

Jeff couldn’t resist a funnel cake though. But the guy really treated us great! We ordered the Wakanda Pop (which is the cookies & cream popcorn), and he said he’d give us a sample of a savory flavor as well. We were expecting a tiny little tasting cup, but the man gave us a whole other giant order of their Cajun Bayou as well, and I liked that one even better than the sweet one. We ate a little in store, but we took almost all of this home with us.

Then I let Jeff pick where we went for dinner. He was craving shrimp, so we did a quick Google search & review for seafood near us, and ended up on South Monroe at Shrimp Stop. And it was great – the owner was super sweet and loved the girls, and gave us extra fries and an extra shrimp in Emmie’s box, and everything was very good. I loved my little “snack” size pita, but I’m glad I didn’t order the “medium” size one Jeff had, because I couldn’t have eaten that much. Actually, neither of us could finish our food, after just the little bits of popcorn we had before dinner.

We all smelled like fried food by the time we left those two places, so we did a late, quick bath for the girls, followed by a super quick shower for me, followed by the full bedtime routine for the little girlies.

I’m probably going to eat a little bit of the popcorn now while we watch a movie or something on tv, and then head to bed soon. It was a busy day, and I’m exhausted!
