Today was our first morning at home this week without Daddy, while he’s out of town for his annual work conference. So I’m a single mom repeat from last year! (Click here for last year’s day 1, day 2, day 3 & day 4 of single mommin’.) Typically, he gets Emerson up & ready, while I’m getting myself dressed. So today, I had to do it all by myself. But she was really great and easy this morning. She hung out in our bed with Pretzel while I got ready…
Then we brushed our teeth together…
And after we both had on our pretty dresses, she had a few Cheerios in the kitchen. And please notice – she tucked her paci under her chin while she ate, since she didn’t have an extra empty hand. So silly!
She was very chatty in the car on the way to school, and then perfect and beautiful for our morning pictures.
She grabbed a banana muffin, and then walked to class. She went straight to Ms Sheila when we got to her room, and we had a perfect drop-off!
And look at these beautiful little blond curls!
I had been thinking about these leftovers allll morning, and when I finally got to eat them at lunch, they did not disappoint! I actually ate my lunch quickly at work, and then used my lunch hour to run home super fast & let Pretzel out for a bathroom break. Usually, Jeff goes home between work & church on Wednesday’s to let him out, but since he’s not here, I ran home so he wouldn’t have to wait until we got home at 8:30 to go to outside again. Going home & back through all the downtown/Gaines Street/Tennessee Street traffic during the lunch hour rush was a bit chaotic, to say the least, but I successfully made it!
While I was at home, I also took a few minutes to flip through the new illustrated Harry Potter book! I had pre-ordered it on Amazon a little while ago, and it was finally released yesterday, and so it arrived at our house last night. But since it was late by the time I opened it, I didn’t look at it much. But it’s so pretty!
For my afternoon snack, I got myself another $1 chocolate bar from my co-worker, this time with almonds. And even though it wasn’t as good as the original chocolate-covered almonds we used to sell, it was tasty. Plus, a pear for balance and health and all that…
Only one photo from school today, but it’s cute one!
Grammy picked up Emmie from school today as usual, and we met for family dinner at Willie Jewel’s before church. Almost the entire family always gets the smoked wings there, with the sauce on the side, and they just rave about them. So I decided to go for that today too, plus mac & cheese. And it was super delish!
Eating cheese noodles with Grandmommie…
Crunching ice with Uncle Keith…
Sharing drinks with Grammy….
And Aunt Suzanne…
That munchkin was all over the place tonight!
As usual, we got to church super early, so we took some time to wander around and check out her favorite rocks.
Then worship choir followed by SCT choir, as usual…
We made it home as quick as possible, and started our bedtime routine. Which apparently now means a pretend/practice potty break.
Then she had some milk and Cheerios, and we did a video call with Daddy again…
And then read our usual books.
She did really, really well tonight, and bed time was super easy again. Praise be! And now I get some nice, quiet, me-time again, with my pumpkin candle and my soft blanket. And maybe a snack…
