Second Trimester

Another Monday morning, but at least it’s a short week, and this girl looked super cute in a new shirt from Grammy!

She was too distracted to look at me for a photo, because she saw her friend Austyn getting out of her dad’s truck.

They were so sweet and excited to see each other, and hugged each other twice.

Emerson may not have had a very good nap today, but it does look like she still had a good day.

As of today, I’m 14 weeks pregnant, and officially in the second trimester. Side note, I actually thought 12 weeks was considered the second trimester, so that’s why we announced the pregnancy two weeks ago, but I was mistaken and I’m actually just now in the second trimester today. Baby is the size of a lemon, and still totally exhausting me!

I saw something the other day that said during the first trimester is when your body is creating the placenta, which is what’s making the mama tired. Then after thatz once the placenta is fully formed, it takes over most of the work of taking care of the baby, which is why we get our energy back in the second trimester. I honestly don’t know if that’s true or not, because it’s just something I read on a Facebook group post, but it sounded good at least right?! 😆🤷🏼‍♀️

For my lunch today, I had one of the sweet potatoes I baked last night, talked with some butter cinnamon and honey, and it was absolute delicious! I scraped out every last bite of that bad boy, and I’m already looking forward to eating another one for lunch tomorrow. I had another few random snacks along with it, and it was actually a really good lunch!

I had been feeling really good today, but by the time the end of the day rolled around, I was completely exhausted again. I had planned to make either French toast, or some of the leftover taco stuff from my mother-in-law, but literally couldn’t even manage that. I gave Jeff the option of getting the taco stuff ready for us, or just picking up dinner, and he opted to run out to grab Chick-fil-A. But who could blame him?! I ordered a sandwich and tea, and skipped the fries, and just helped myself to two of Jeff’s, and I was stuffed.

You played for a little while, and Emmie goofed off a little bit, and we watched some of the Charlie Brown Christmas.

She had the world’s tiniest boo-boo on her little thumb, but still insisted on ointment and a big giant Band-Aid. About 30 seconds after putting it on, she decided it was bothering her and she needed us to take it off. Typical. 😆

She picked out a couple of books for us to take turns reading tonight, plus the one extra tiny one she got in her Chick-fil-A kids meal tonight.

Even though we got her in bed a few minutes before 8:00, which is really good for us, it took her till about 8:30 to finally settle down and stop calling us in there for one more hug or because she heard something outside or whatever…

My white pumpkin candle is burning, and pretzel and I are cuddled up on the couch while Jeff works on some computer stuff in the front room. He’s building a new server for himself whatever that means, or something like that… I finished the “Dash and Lily” last night (it was only eight short episodes), so tonight I’ve started on “Emily in Paris.” Jeff and Emerson had some chocolate chip cookies for dessert earlier while watching Charlie Brown, but I was still too full. But I think now it’s time to grab the last two cookies and a little cup of milk.
