Scrapbooking

My morning started today with a beautiful ladies’ tea at my Mama’s church, for their women’s ministry event. And it was so nice! She decorate cute with bees and honey and pretty yellow flowers, and we had good snacks and hot tea. And it was a great morning, and I loved our ladies family time together.

Jeff stayed home and took care of the girls while I was out, and got Addie down for a nap, right as I got back home. I also got Emmie down for a nap once I was home, and Jeff headed out to meet his dad for lunch. I played on my phone a while, and then ended up falling asleep for a while myself.

Then late this afternoon, while it was dark and storming outside with the thunder rolling, Emmie and I busted out my old scrapbook supplies and did some random crafting. We love watching these “junk journaling” videos on TikTok together, and she’s been wanting to try it out. So we really went for it this afternoon, for about an hour, and it was lots of fun.

Addie had to get in on the action too, making her own little scrapbook page with stickers and Daddy’s doodles.

This is Emmie’s finished masterpiece, and she was very proud of it. Most of the little videos we watch have a theme or a central color, so she decided her theme was something like blue & purple outdoor road trip. Or something…

I even found a bag full of my old mementos that I used to keep from back in high school, when I did actually scrapbook, like concert tickets from 2003, FSU football tickets from 2004, and Pirates 2 movie tickets from 2006. (I know the page isn’t cute, but that’s ok, I was just having fun crafting with Emmie.)

Finally got Addie dressed for the first time at like 5pm, and put on Emmie’s matching shirt too, and headed out for an early dinner. The new Raising Cane’s just opened right by our house a few weeks ago, and we’ve heard so much good stuff about it. And it really was delicious!

Emmie said she gave it a 10 out of 10! And really, Jeff and I loved it too. It’s extremely similar to Guthrie’s, but somehow better. And that BREAD. That was incredible.

After dinner, we had a little time to hang out at home, and the girls splashed like crazy tonight in the bathtub. Then we pulled out some of my old scrapbooks. This first one is one that Meg made me for my college graduation present.

I was dying over some of these pictures of me, that look exactly like Addison right now!

And I was just really obsessed with this little cowgirl outfit that I wore on my first day of kindergarten (with the white boots that aren’t pictured), and countless times through the year.

Then this is one of my scrapbooks that I made for my sophomore year of high school, including our class trip to NYC for a week. There are also pages for church retreats, and spring break, and cheer camp in the summer. I might have to share a few more pages from this book, because there are some decent little pages in here. I know I have at least one more book with junior and senior year too, but I couldn’t find that one yet tonight. Gotta keep looking…

Today was pretty slow and chill and relaxed, and I really liked that it was such an easy-going day. Tomorrow, we’ll take care of cleaning the house and washing some dishes and picking up some groceries (all after church and small group lunch), but today was for rest…
