Saturday Smoothies

The plan today was to make egg sandwiches for breakfast. But Emerson just begged for donuts again. We broke down and went with it, but told her this was the last time for a while, since this was now the third Saturday in a row… They were delicious though 🙂

After breakfast, Emerson cleared off the coffee table, and then I found her with her own tiny spray bottle and a napkin wiping it down.

So I upgraded her to my own multi-purpose spray and a rag, and let her go to town! She was SUCH a good helper. She also then cleaned the whole living room, basically all by herself as well!

Nana came over to hang out with us today, and Addie found these old butterfly wings of Emmie’s and thought it was the best thing to run around in them!

Emerson had big plans today for a lunch date (and errands) with Grammy & Grandmommie today, so she got dressed and ready to go, and they came over to pick her up for their special time together.

While Big Sister was out galivanting around town, Baby Sister was taking herself a long three-hour nap. Nana and I worked on some chores like laundry and dishes, then made ourselves salads for lunch and watched “The Sound of Music.” I later went to pick up Emmie from Grammy, and we got our Walmart grocery order.

Then we made some smoothies for a late-afternoon snack. Addison has been doing okay today, as far as her sickness goes, and she’s drinking okay, but she really hasn’t eaten very much. So we were hoping she would do well with the smoothie, and she did actually drink quite a bit of that, which made me happy.

We had a little bit of chill hangout time after that, and then we heated up some of the Swedish meatball leftovers for our dinner tonight, with some fresh mashed potatoes. Emmie thought she wanted her leftover cheeseburger from lunch, but then she looked over at my bowl after my first bite, and was like, “Oh yeah that does look good. Can I have some of that?” So she ended up eating meatballs with us too.

The girls took a bath together after dinner, and Nana volunteered to wash up a load of dishes for me. Emerson asked for a popsicle for her dessert snack, so she sat at the counter munching on that.

Addie is obsessed with flipping and being flipped lately, and she’ll come up to you, put her head down between her legs, and expects you to pick her up and flip  her upside down or flip her over. Emmie picked up Nana’s phone and wanted to take a picture of it, so I took a picture of the whole scene!

Emmie bonked her head on the door frame running too fast down the hallway, and needed to lay down on an ice pack for a while. Addie and Pretzel settled up there near her too, to keep her company.

After Nana headed home, Jeff finally got back home to us just a few minutes later. Emerson was exhausted tonight, and after her and I did our usual stuff, and Jeff did his usual stuff, Jeff said she was already snoring before he had even stood up from her bedside. But again tonight, Addison is just refusing sleep, and is pretty grumpy and wayyy too tired. So hopefully we can get this girl to sleep soon!
