Santa’s Tiny Helper

This week is Christmas dress-up days at school, with a different Christmas-themed outfit every day. We have stuff for Emerson for every day, but Addison is only doing a few of the days… But today was Christmas hat day, so Emmie wore this Santa hat we picked up over the weekend at the Dollar Tree. She looked like Santa’s Tiny Helper!

Addie was watching me through the window after we left her classroom 🙂

And Emmie got to have a quick visit with Santa today!

Poor tiny Addie had just fallen asleep when we got there to pick her up from school.

I “made” these carnitas tacos about a month ago, and we all loved it so much, so I bought them again. Today was supposed to be a different meal (with these being planned for taco Tuesday), but things got out of whack a little bit, so I just let go of my own self-imposed meal schedule, and made the tacos tonight 🙂 The fresh, homemade guac really is the “cherry” on top, but ya know, like, guac…

These carnitas are actually really good, especially considering it’s just a store-bought prepared meat, but we really like it!

We had a nice long video chat with Megan and the triplets tonight while we were eating dinner, and we all loved chatting with each other while we ate. Afterwards, I cleaned up the leftovers, making little Tupperware’s for mine & Jeff’s lunches tomorrow, and then Emerson, Pretzel and I cuddled together on the couch, watching “Ratatouille” while Jeff fed Addison a bottle, and then she immediately fell asleep. Before he fed her, she couldn’t even keep her eyes open sitting in his lap, the poor girl was exhausted!

We got both girls in bed easily tonight, after rocking & cuddles for Addie, and books, lullabies, & prayers for Emmie.

I had tons of dishes to wash up that had collected over the weekend that I never got around to taking care of, and we had a couple loads of clean laundry to fold, so Jeff and I both had our own chores to take care of tonight. (I’m always dishes, and he’s always laundry. It’s just something we agreed on a few years ago, and while there are of course exceptions and times either or both of us does the other chore, this is how it usually goes with these two specific things.)

I already washed some of the dishes in the middle of cooking dinner, but I still have more to finish up before bedtime. Plus the bottles, of course. So I’m gonna grab my earbuds and my latest audio book, and spend about 15-20 minutes getting as much done as I can, trying to get all the things washed & cleaned!
