Praise the Lord, we are safe & sound! Our power flickered out around midnight last night, but was only off for about 10 seconds. Then it was back on and never went out again! Our house suffered no damage, and the girls mostly slept through the night. They each woke up once, but we were able to get them back to sleep in their hallway beds 🤣
And wouldn’t you know it, they were still up bright and early just like always.
We had a super chill day at home, didn’t do much, but did squeeze in some nap time (after staying up very late last night) and some play time and plenty of snacks.
Around dinner time, we went over to Jeff’s parents house, and grilled burgers for dinner, and ate by the light of the twinkle lights, since their power was still out.
Their power actually came back on right as we were getting ready to leave, so we stayed longer for Jeff to help pack away all the extension cords and get things put back in order after turning off the generators.
As we turned on our road back at home, there were power trucks working on the lines down the street from us, and I commented that we would probably lose power now that they were here working on the lines. The lights were on when we pulled into the driveway, but before we even stepped out of the car, everything went black! It only took about 10 minutes for it to come back on though, and so everything was fine and we were able to cuddle up for Bluey time.
So so so thankful that the storm turned a tiny bit Eastward at the last minute last night, so that Tally was mostly spared from the worst of it. (Thank you to the Lord, and thank you to the MagLab, iykyk.) But unfortunately that means our neighbors in small nearby towns like Perry, Live Oak & Madison were hit hard. I have friends and co-workers in those places, and it’s rough for them. Just feeling incredibly blessed and thankful tonight. ❤️
