Beautiful weather today, crisp, cool temperature, and beautiful sky this morning (taken from our parking garage at work).

And we had a special lunch at work today! They grilled up hundreds of Bradley’s sausage dogs, and our entire building had a huge tailgate party. We also chips, cookies & water, and that sausage dog was sooooo good.

Me and my work friends, Toni & Heather, found a nice shady spot on some steps across the street to hang out and eat our lunch, and it felt so great. We were finished eating in about 20 minutes, but we definitely stayed out there for our entire lunch hour, just enjoying the weather, chatting, and since they had giant loud speakers, we had the occasional karaoke moment.

We liked this pretty, fancy door behind the steps we were sitting on.

Tater Tot at school today!

On a random note, I recently signed up for the New York Times online site, so I get a daily email with their “morning briefing” full of lots of titles & links & articles. I’m not smart enough to read all the political stuff & such, but there are lots of other interesting things there. There are also daily puzzles (i.e. – mini crossword & sodoku & others), which I love. Today, I ran across this NYT article today, about “training” your spouse, and it’s pretty funny. I thought about sending it to Jeff to read, but maybe I’ll just keep it to myself and try it out on him instead. (Don’t worry, he rarely keeps up with each of my posts every day, so I doubt he’ll see it here…)

Jeff finally made it home today, after being gone at his annual work conference since Tuesday. He got back into town right around 5:45pm, so after I picked up Emerson from school, we met up for dinner at Momo’s out before heading home. The weather was still so nice outside, and we all enjoyed sitting on the patio for dinner.

These two were so excited to see each other, and so adorable together.

She got antsy waiting, so they had to go off exploring for a bit, which was fine with Jeff, because he needed to stretch his legs more after the drive home from St. Pete.

Emerson told me she didn’t want pizza (even though I knew she’d be fine with it), and of course she then proceeded to eat almost half of my slice of 5-cheese with sausage. But at least there was more than enough to share!

And then this is her asking for “more peeza peeeeas!”

Once we got home, we helped Jeff unload a butt-load of computer stuff from the rental can, so we can return it in the morning. It’s honestly so much stuff, his boss is going to have to bring his truck to our house to load it all up to take back to their office of Monday. (Van is due tomorrow, & their building closes for the weekends to treat for asbestos, so there’s no other option.)

Then Emerson needed to just chill with a cup of “little ice” (aka crushed ice) and watch a few little kid songs on YouTube before bed time.

She was very glad to have daddy back for the bed time routine, to sit in the floor together and read books.

But then she still wanted Mommy to do prayers and lullabies, and rock her (Daddy was too sweaty anyways and needed a shower from all the unloading), so I still got all the good loves and snuggles.)

Jeff just got out of the shower, and I’m looking forward to chatting and catching up a little bit more, and then snuggling up together for movie time. So glad to have my hubby back home safe and sound!
