Resurrection Sunday 2022

And for the third day in a row on this very busy Easter weekend, I’m getting late start on this post, and I have tons of pics to share, so I’m gonna try to speed right again. First of all, Addison woke up at midnight last night with a fever, out of nowhere. So Jeff kept her home this morning, and just Emmie and I went to church. And she was excited to see the cute things the Easter bunny had left for her!

Then since we were there so early for praise team rehearsal, Emmie’s teachers weren’t there yet, so she sat quietly drawing in her little notebook for a while, and then eventually she joined us on stage, and my friend Jennifer gave her a mic, and took that pic of her up there 🙂

And we had a GREAT Easter Sunday at church! Our Sunday school class was full, and the pews in the sanctuary were packed. The worship was great (if I do say so myself), and we had four baptisms!

Meanwhile, Jeff took Addison for an Urgent Care visit, and they couldn’t really tell us much. It’s not her ears (yay, at least the tubes are working so far), and her flu test was negative, so we’ll just have to let whatever this is run it’s course.

We met up with Jeff’s parents for lunch at Harry’s after church. Unfortunately, someone actually stole Nita’s purse from their church on Easter Sunday, so they had a rough time trying to close out all her credit cards and stuff, before joining us. So it took a while for them to meet up with us, but we had lots of time to explore all over Klemen plaza, and of course Emerson loved that.

We sat outside on the porch for lunch, and the weather was so nice, and the food was so delicious, and Addie was feeling good then. (We figured it was “ok” to bring her out even though she didn’t feel good, since we could eat outside, and we weren’t near any other people.)

Since lunch ran so long and so late, we only ran home for just a few minutes, to rest a tiny bit, and change some clothes, and repack the diaper bag for Grammy’s house. Then the girls napped in the car…

Before getting to Grammy & Papa’s house, and being surprised with this mini bouncy house they recently bought! (They put it in the garage tonight, in case of rain.) And the girls had so much fun!

They played in the playroom for a little bit, pretending to sleep…

And then it was dinner time. We had a delicious Easter dinner with ham, potato salad, red rice, zipper peas, my favorite angel biscuits, jello salad, and devilled eggs. I made sure to ask my mama for some leftovers, so I can have this again for lunch one day this week, because it was really delicious.

Poor little Addie just wasn’t feeling it though, so Aunt Meggie got her to sleep, and then Jeff switched with her and she just slept through most of the evening.

I ended up not taking as many photos at Grammy’s house tonight, but we had a good time, despite a few meltdowns by all the toddlers. Emmie did well at bedtime tonight though, after a little bit of extra Daddy cuddles. Addie’s fever has been on & off all day, and tonight she’s just kind of laying on us, but not sleeping, but not fighting sleep either. We’re almost out of baby tylenol & motrin, so Jeff’s going to run to the store to grab some for us, to make sure we don’t run out in the middle of the night. I’m keeping her home from school tomorrow, but tonight, I’m just praying she sleeps, so that we can sleep too, because she didn’t last night, and it was rough.
