Repeat Outfit

Addison wanted to repeat the exact same outfit from yesterday, again today, so Daddy let her do it! When I saw her and asked her, “Why are you wearing that again?” She said, “CUZ I CAN!” So, there you go 🤣

Jeff took Addison to school this morning, and then he went on to work. I stayed home to take care of my sick little Emmie girl. I made us both some breakfast, and got her settled watching tv in the living room with some hot peach tea. And then I actually signed into my laptop just a little late at 8:30, and worked from home the whole rest of the day.

Emmie had a little spurt of feeling good around mid-morning, so she had some craft time, and was up kinda playing around a little. She made this little painting of one of my hanging faux plants, cut it out and pasted it on the stripey background she also painted. Then she taped it up on her door with painters tape, underneath the poster we made for school when she was 2 years old, and she has never wanted to take down.

During my lunch break, I made Emmie some lunch (she just wanted half a bagel; she hasn’t been eating much today), and hung out with her a bit. I also got some teriyaki chicken started in the crock pot for dinner, took a shower, and then made myself a sandwich for my lunch, and sat back down at the laptop to work.

Also, this fried pickle & ranch dip we found at Aldi the other day is delicious, and so super flavorful and literally tastes just like fried pickles dipped in ranch. If you like fried pickles dipped in ranch, you should try this stuff.

Around lunch, Emerson started feeling bad again, and her fever spiked up. I tried to get her to take an afternoon nap, but the thunderstorm kept her awake, and she wasn’t able to sleep. So instead, I set her up for a “bougie bath,” with a hot bath tub, a bath bomb, and her Kindle set up on a stool to watch a movie. She did “rest” a lot today, she just wasn’t able to nap.

Jeff picked up Addison after he got off work. After I signed out and closed the laptop at 5pm, I cooked up some rice, shredded the teriyaki chicken, and ate a quick dinner myself. I made Emmie a tiny bowl too, and she ate pretty well actually, but she was having the chills at this point, so she had on big cozy socks, a fleece jacket, and was buried under a giant blanket. (Oh, and we found out today she actually tested positive for covid. They said it’s basically just like a “common cold” at this point, especially for her right now, and she just has to be fever-free for 24 hours before returning to normal activities. But she’s still having fever & chills & headaches, which is a little more like the flu rather than a cold. But since she still had fever today, she’s staying home from camp again tomorrow with Daddy.)

Once Jeff and Addie got home, I went straight to the car to head to church for worship team rehearsal, for our Wednesday night service. I came back home after singing, and my sick, sleepy little Emmie was ready for an early bedtime. I did her routine with her, and got some loves and snuggles from Addie, before Jeff got her to sleep as well.

I had a really early dinner tonight at 5:30 before church, and so now at 9pm, I need a little snack, and I think some popcorn is calling me name!
