Reindeer & Trains

This morning, Emerson found Sheppy riding a train looking for Baby Jesus. She very sweetly grabbed his little hand and talked to him for a few minutes, before we headed off to school.

Random fact – this little ceramic train was a gift to us, because the first house we lived in together was on Seaboard Street (an old rail line), which was like, 50 feet from the railroad (behind DOT, right near Cascades Park), and trains kinda became our thing for a while. We also have a couple of train Christmas tree ornaments. Actually, I’m gonna go snap a few pics of those real quick to add in here at the end of the post…

School drop-off went quick and easy today, with these two little cutes.

Addie was wearing a new onesie our friends gave her for Christmas last night, and she looks so pretty in pink.

I talked to the director on my way out of school this morning, and she said that she’ll be moving up to the next classroom officially in the new year!

Today was one of those days where instead of portioning out what I needed for lunch, or actually making the sandwich to take with me (I knew it would be better made fresh anyways), I just took whole packs of pretty much everything to make an Italian sub, with carrots & roasted garlic hummus on the side. And it was super good. I’ll be having the exact same thing again tomorrow.

Here are the cute Christmas nail wraps I did Sunday night. And although they are really cute, they aren’t sticking the way they should, and their already peeling up and driving me nuts. My hair also gets stuck around the edges every time I touch my hair or put it in a bun, so that’s annoying too. Probably gonna peel them off later…

This is the only photo we got of the girls from school today, Emmie playing with her little friends, doing I don’t even know what these things are…

I made BBQ chicken pizza and salad for dinner, which was super easy and super yummy. Emmie wanted apple slices with her pizza instead of salad, and she ate one piece of pizza and an entire apple, minus the peel 😉

We realized tonight we were one day off on our Advent calendar (after much discussion and counting), so she did one this morning and one more tonight, and now I think we’re back on track…

This little girl was very tired after barely any sleep today, but also still very happy and smiley all night.

Until I finally got her to give in and just fall asleep!

Emerson has been fighting bedtime pretty hard tonight, and pulling out all her usual shenanigans, ranging from cute to sweet to ridiculous to frustrating… I think maybe she’s finally asleep now, more than a full hour after beginning her bedtime routine. I’ve got some dishes to wash, but luckily not to many, so I’m gonna go do that and then sit down to rest a bit.

Oh, but here are our two train ornaments! I thought we had a third one, but I couldn’t find it… And one of these is the Hogwarts Express 🙂

Maybe I’ll share a few more ornaments over the next few days, just to share some stories about other ones, because that was kinda fun!
