Rainy Day Movie Rest Time

After Emerson’s sleepover with Nana last night, she was up and at ’em super early, and was eating chocolate chip pancakes, before 7am even hit.

And then she put on some makeup for the day…

And they went shopping!

Back at home, we had a slower start to our day, but eventually we made ourselves some breakfast, and enjoyed a lazy morning.

Disclaimer – no coffee actually made it into her mouth 😉

My sweet baby girl slept on me for about 2 hours, while I just watched Survivor that whole time. We rarely ever get to just sit around and do absolutely nothing, so it was really nice to do that today…

Nana and Emmie went shopping for a few hours, and then had lunch at the mall, where she got to do that jumpy trampoline thing again!

Since it was raining and they couldn’t play outside, they went to Nana’s church and Emmie got to play in their kids rooms and found lots of fun dress-up clothes that she loved. This is only a few of the things she tried on, there were about 5 others!

Apparently, she said this was the babies’ bunk beds.

We played a little bit, and then had lunch, and then Addie had a little bit more playtime, and then she was ready for another nap. Jeff held her for a bit, then laid her down in her bed, and Jeff and I finished watching “Tick Tick Boom,” which was so super good.

It was so rainy and gray and cloudy this afternoon (after that crazy thunder & lightning storm last night!) so movie rest time was the perfect lazy way to spend our free time today. (My college friend Nicole’s mom always called it movie rest time when Nicole & her sister were kids, and after hearing that phrase, I loved it and adopted it for myself and have said it ever since then, and I always think of Nicole every time!)

Jeff and I ran a few quick errands with Addie after she woke up, and then we headed over to Nana & PopPop’s house for a bit of playtime with big sister.

We feel like she’s getting really close to learning to walk, and maybe in the next few weeks she’ll really get the hang of it.

Then we went out to dinner with Nana at Glory Days, which was our first time there, and it was really good.

Cheers with our matching strawberry lemonades 🙂

Jeff ordered the fish & chips and I ordered the bleu cheese burger, and then we split both entrees and they were both equally yummy.

This little baby girl ate SO MUCH food tonight!! Nana kept giving her little pieces of everything (pretzel, fries, chicken, broccoli, mac & cheese, rice…), and she ate every single bite she was given. She just ate non-stop for pretty much the entire hour we were there!

We had a late night bath tonight, and got both girls dressed in fresh, clean jammies, brushed their cute little blonde heads, and got them ready for bedtime.

Addie and Emmie both went down pretty easily tonight, it was just later than usual, because of dinner and bath time. After watching “Tick Tick Boom” earlier today, I now feel the need  to watch “Rent,” so I think we’re going to start that and watch a little bit of it before our own bedtime.
