Princess Castle

Look at this little cutie, in an adorable new outfit from her Grammy!

And today, Mommy actually got the jacket zipped up before school!

If my breakfast would have been laid out nicely on a pretty plate, it would have made a nice example of a perfectly balanced breakfast – protein, veggies, fruit, bread. I was proud of myself, and it was delicious! 😁

As soon as we got home today, I worked at warp speed to get all the dinner ingredients whipped together and into the Instant Pot. While that pressurized and cooked, I also got a pot of jasmine rice going on the stove. And then I also washed up some dishes.

I made a new recipe from my friend Connie, for mango chicken. It may not photograph very well, but it sure tasted good! We made a couple notes for how we could improve it the next time (like extra flavors and a few toppings), and we will certainly try it again sometime.

Emmie had said she only wanted plain rice (in a white bowl like ours), but then decided she did in fact want some chicken after all. But she wanted only the teeniest tiniest pieces of the shredded chicken, so she was making Daddy give her the tiniest pieces from his bowl.

Then she asked if she could pick a piece of candy from the farm, which means she wanted some of the Redemptive Love trick or treat candy from her basket. She chose the sour patch kids, and asked, “What’s on the outside of these, Mommy?” I told her sugar, and she just smiled soooo big and said, “Mmmmmmm!!”

After dinner, Daddy set up this cute little princess tent that one of his co-workers recently sent to her, as a belated surgery-recovery-gift. And she obviously loved it!

After playing in it for a bit, Jeff and I went to the living room and left her next door in the adjoining dining room. But she decided she wanted her and her castle to be in the same room as us, so while Jeff and I watched a few praise and worship videos on YouTube (I literally cried watching Promises for the first time tonight, and yes I know I’m late to that bandwagon), while she played in her castle with her animals and some books and her Kindle. Look closely, and you can see her in the window of her castle. (Also, can someone please find where my motivation to clean my house went?!)

Bedtime went well, and although she of course announced that she wasn’t tired and didn’t want to sleep, she didn’t put up too much of a fight, and we got her down pretty easily. Time to rest and relax on the couch with my hubs, and then head to bed myself soon too!
