Pocketful of Sunshine

I was at church by 8am today for praise team, Jeff got himself and the kids ready for church, and then they were there at 8:30 for him to volunteer for the tech booth in kids church. And we had former MLB player from both the Yankees & the Mets, Darryl Strawberry, for a guest speaker today, and he was a great speaker with an incredible testimony.

We had a quick lunch at McDonald’s after lunch (ordered through our two apps, using multiple deals and coupons), and then picked up Walmart grocery order, and headed home to get the girls down for naptime.

Once they were awake, I took the girls to a park play date with our friends Britteny and Elly, at the park out in Summer Brooke.

Back at home, Jeff and Ryan were doing some work on Jeff’s car, trying to change out some spark plugs in his engine as well. And then we all met up at Nana & PopPop’s house for pot roast family dinner.

This little girl was SO excited when she found the pockets in the outfit she had been wearing all day long.

I love her little belly peeking out while she’s playing with her pockets. Also, this reminded me of the Natasha Bedingfield song, “Pocketful of Sunshine,” from 15-ish year ago. I used to be so obsessed with her and that whole album back then! (And WOW, that album is SO nostalgic of my sophomore year of college, living in the dorm room in at Flagler College in St. Augustine, working at Chick-fil-A, eating there 3 times a week minimum, hanging out with my friends, driving around town in my cute little red Jeep Liberty, living life as a 20-year-old girl with barely a care in the world!)

We left the opposite of empty-handed, with leftovers for lunch tomorrow, and a container of cupcakes for the week. We started working on getting the girls ready for bed, with jammies and snacks and drinks and lullabies and prayers.

But after we got Emmie in bed, and Addie laid down in her crib, Emerson came back out about 15 minutes later, saying she was scared “because she almost fell asleep and almost had a bad dream.” So she’s currently snuggling and rocking in the recliner with Daddy, and we’ll get her laid back down after a while…

Today was another great day, but of course I’m so tried and ready to just sit down and rest for the night!
