Planting Onions

I was at church early today at 8am for praise team rehearsal. Then Jeff and the girls came at 9am, because he was running the sound booth in GC kids. And then finally, church at 10am.

Emerson wanted a burrito for lunch today, so went back to burrito boarder again, and it was really yummy.

When we got home from lunch, we started on nap time. Jeff ended up holding Addison in the recliner in the living room for her whole two-hour nap, while he fell asleep too. Emerson napped in bed with me, and while the three of them slept about two hours, I actually ended up sleeping for three whole hours, which is so rare for me.

It was already 4:30 once I finally woke up, but Emmie asked to go out in the pool. I didn’t answer right away, but she dramatically opened the curtains on the sliding glass doors, and was like, “But look outside! No gray clouds!” That girl knows I love the sunshine, and she knew how it get me to say yes 😉

After chatting with a coworker about my window sill green onions I’ve been growing for a few weeks, they suggested popping them into soil instead, as they have a tendency to get slimy when grown in water, which was definitely already happening. So I put some fresh soil into this giant pot, then popped each little onion and its roots into the soil, and watered it, so I’m hoping they do well out here! I wanna find something to plant in the other half of the pot, but I’m not sure what yet. Grandmommie’s suggestion was tomatoes, and I like the idea of tiny cherry tomatoes. Anyone else know something hearty and good for outdoor summer heat?!

And after watering the onions, we were “watering the girls” too in the pool, and they thought it was the greatest, and loved all the rainbows it was causing.

We did a quick and easy little snack-tray-plate situation for dinner. All four of our plates looked a little different, with some different components, like the girls had ‘nilla wafers and go-gurt on their plates, but this was easy and no-cook, and really yummy. I love my own homemade tuna so much.

After dinner, we put on a 10-minute timer and cleaned the living room, and vacuumed the carpet, and Jeff put on our freshly washed sheets. Then Emerson and I did a quick little Bible journaling time together before bedtime.

Emerson wanted all of the lovey times with mama, and didn’t want me to leave her room for the longest time. Addison on the other hand was very sleepy and her and daddy both konked out together quickly.

We’ve got a few things to take care of to get ready for the upcoming week, and then bedtime for us is coming up soon too.
