Pizza & Cleaning

On the way to school this morning, Emerson said, “Are we going to see Aunt Meggie today? I miss the triplets.” And lucky for her, we did get to see them this morning at school drop-off! For some reason, the triplets aged like 6 months since we saw them 2 weeks ago, and all of them look sooo much older to me.

We loved the way Addison was looking up at all the big girls, when they were rocking her car seat back and forth.

I know this doesn’t look super great or anything, but this salad I made was delicious, and I made the crab salad again, but this time it was even better. I just dipped that up with the pita crackers, and then had a little bit of the hummus with feta, but not much.

Didn’t get any pictures from Addie’s teachers today, but the app said she was in a good mood. We did get one photo from Emmie’s teachers though, and she looked like she was having a good day!

I made BBQ chicken pizza tonight, with my usual Italian side salad. You can tell, but there are thin sliced red onions, thin sliced red bell pepper, and shredded rotisserie chicken under the cheese. Plus the BBQ sauce. I also like to put a ton of fresh cilantro on my slices, and this was the best this pizza has ever turned out. Soo good!

Emmie loves this pizza a lot too, but I always make half of one pizza with no veggies for her.

Jeff and Addison were holding hands during dinner

We didn’t end up getting much cleaning done this past weekend, so the house was pretty messy. After getting dinner cleaned up and leftovers put away (already excited to eat more of that pizza for lunch at work tomorrow), we set a 15-minute timer on the Google Hub, and just cleaned as much as we could for that short burst of time. And we actually made a good bit of progress. (Jeff was in the kitchen boiling some water with vinegar in the electric tea kettle to clean it out.)

And since Emmie ate such a good meal and helped us so much with cleaning, she earned herself some more ice cream for dessert again tonight.

Addie was still acting wide awake, so I let her play for a little while trying to tire her out a bit before bedtime.

When she first started learning to crawl, we often thought she looked like a sloth, because of how slowly she reached her arms out in front of her before placing it down on the ground. So we often called her a baby sloth. We still call her that sometimes, but this girl is NOT slow as a sloth anymore! She crawls so dang fast! Emmie likes to go pick her up and bring her back to me, and hollers, “Baby delivery!”

Emmie had the rest of her pizza crust and bacon bits for her bedtime snack, while we read a book. This girl cracks me up with her bedtime snacks.

Emmie did really well at bedtime tonight, although she called Daddy back into her room after we both left, because she just wanted him to hold her hand for a little bit before she fell asleep. So sweet!

While they were holding hands, I was feeding Addie her last bottle, and she fell asleep while drinking it, then stayed asleep after I took it out of her mouth, with little milk drops dribbling down her little chin. I snuggled her for a little bit, and then was able to easily lay her down in her bed.

Dinner was so easy tonight, there are only the dirty dishes from my lunch Tupperware and our coffee today, plus bottles always, so it shouldn’t take me too long to get everything cleaned up. Then I think we’re going to try to fold some clean laundry while watching tv.
