Perfect Day for Spring Cleaning

Hadn’t had my favorite egg-in-the-hole in quite a while, but I cooked it perfectly today, and it was so delicious.

We watched a family’s Disney vlog on YouTube this morning, and Emmie was so excited about the video, and our upcoming trip, and kept asking if she could do all the things we saw.

Addie fell asleep playing with Daddy’s hair…

While Jeff held Addie for her nap, Emmie watched some videos in her room, and I grabbed a coffee refill and read on my Kindle for a little bit.

Last Saturday (only one month late!), our little Addison turned 10 months old! And at 10 months old, Addison is still toothless, but trying so hard to figure out this whole walking thing. She’s still tiny (7th-ish percentile?), but LOVES big-people-food, and rarely wants baby food anymore. (Check out the second photo to see the most loving big sister, and the “real life” behind-the-scenes situation.)

After our little photoshoot, we finally got busy cleaning up the super cluttered, messy house. This “before” photo was actually more like a “during” photo, because at this point, we had already picked up a big pile of unfolded, clean clothes from the floor. We cleaned for about an hour and a half, and then took a little lunch break. Emmie helped me make our sandwiches, while Jeff vacuumed the living room.

After lunch, both girls were sound asleep for naptime, and I finished up all the rest of the cleaning in the living room, dining room and kitchen. I lit a candle, we opened some windows (a tiny inch or so only, since it was cold today), but we just really wanted some fresh air in the house! But look how much nicer the house looks now! I also washed my favorite “couch blanket” today, and now it smells so nice and fresh too. It was sunny and spring-y even if it wasn’t warm, but it was a perfect day to stay indoors and start our spring cleaning.

After two and a half hours, Addison woke up from her nap first (she went down right before our lunch time), and so we had our afternoon snack time together. Well, my snack was only a cold coffee, but she loved her snack.

When Emmie woke up after about two hours, she emerged from her room wearing her leotard and her dress-up heels 😉

Then we all got dressed and ready and went to spend the evening with Nana & PopPop! Nana made delicious turkey burgers with goat cheese, and one of my favorite veggies, garlic sautéed green beans almandine.

Lit my very favorite candle when we got home tonight, and then snuggled with Emmie for a few minutes before putting her to bed.

Addison obviously fell asleep as soon as we put her in the car tonight, and she stayed that way in her seat for a while once we got home too.

Walmart grocery extended their pickup hours recently, so Jeff just got home from a late-night grocery pick-up, so we’re gonna put those away, and make sure Addie has one more bottle before bedtime, and then head off to bed ourselves. I’m exhausted from all that cleaning work around the house today, but I feel SO MUCH better having gotten it done!
